Everett
If I said I didn't know why I went all across the world to save her, I'd be lying to myself. I know very well why I did it. Because I'm in love with her. And it doesn't bother me saying it out loud anymore. As much as I want to, I can't deny it. As angry as I'd been that day, as much as she betrayed my trust, there was nothing else in my mind than seeing her again. Safe. I've always had difficulties trusting people. It's not the first time. So I genuinely don't know what to do now.
"Where are you staying?" I ask her and she shifts in her car seat.
"A hotel in the middle of nowhere." She murmurs.
"Tell me where it is, you're getting your things." I turn right.
"Why?" She frowns.
"We're going home."
"Everett -"
"I don't want to hear anything just tell me directions to the hotel."
She lowers her head and explains where it is. When we get there, she opens the door to her room and I step in. "How did he find you here?" It's impossible.
"The man at the reception was his grandfather, he said." She quietly says but doesn't move to pack her things.
"He's actually more dumb than I thought." I chuckle, "Why are you not packing?"
"Everett look. Even if you want me back there, your family doesn't. I can't imagine how much they hate me right now. And I feel like I need to suffer alone for what I did."
I hate that she thinks that. I mean, okay my family doesn't like her at the moment. But we can find a way. She doesn't need to suffer. She deserves to be happy. With me. Even if she did what she did. I know deep down except from the guilt she feels, she wants to make things right.
"No, love. You don't need to suffer alone. You need to give my family an explanation and we can try to make things right." I push a strand of hair behind her ear. "I know you. I know you're willing to do anything. I want to be with you, love. I want you. I'm not letting business get in between us. It's not me against you. It's us against the world, my love." I cup her face and wipe a tear off her face.
"You're too nice. I don't deserve you." She takes my hand that was on her cheek and kisses it, "You're right. I'm willing to do anything to make things right. I'm not going to let anyone get in between us. I am going to explain everything to your family and I'm going to apologize for what I did. And Everett love, I promise you, I am going to earn your trust again." She smiles between her tears and this time, she starts packing.
She's the sweetest soul. Very deep down that sassy, stubborn ass of hers, she has a golden heart and she will do anything to have a chance to live happily.
After all, we only live once, why not take advantage of it?

We are at the front doors, Winslow close to fainting from anxiety. I try to calm her down and reassure her that everything's going to be okay. We slowly get in. At first, no one was in the house but soon Cassius came to sight. "Cameron is- oh." He spots her. I can feel her being nervous and lowering her head, unable to look at him. He walks closer to us and clears his throat, "Can I um-" he clears his throat again, "Can I hug her?""Why are you asking me idiot?" I chuckle and watch in awe as he embraces her tight. It seems like a weight has been off his shoulders. He sighs and burries his face in her hair. When they pull away, he shakes her shoulders, "What were you thinking? Getting kidnapped? That's so dumb!" He hugs her again and I can hear her laugh from here. God, life without her here was so different. We we're just living our lives normally until she popped out of nowhere. And now we can never go back to living without her.
