Chapter 29

Joe's POV

I got off of the plane and rushed through security. I had nothing but my phone and my passport on me so it didn't take long. As soon as I was outside of the airport I called an uber to take me to my apartment. I wanted to shower and get changed before I went to see Charlotte. I walked into my apartment and I saw a familiar handbag slouched across the kitchen counter. I then heard a sob followed by a sniffle coming from downstairs.

''Charlotte?'' I called out and no one answered.

''Charlotte is this you?'' I say and there is no answer again. I walk downstairs, carefully in case there is a burglar in my apartment. I walk up to my bedroom door which was slightly open and when I walk in I see a sobbing Charlotte sat on the floor surrounded by all of the pictures of us.

''Charlotte'' I whisper and run up to her. I sit down next to her and embrace her in a tight hug. She starts crying even more and my heart breaks ''Baby please, don't cry'' I coo and kiss her forehead. Suddenly I feel her push me away and she stands up.

''Get away from me'' She says coldly.

''Charlotte let me explain!'' I say and as I try to approach her, she moves away.

''No! You cheated on me! I saw you kiss that girl Joe! You're a liar and a cheater! I can't believe I actually thought you loved me! I can't believe I gave you all of me!'' She says and sits down on the bed with her head in her hands. I knew very well what she was talking about and I have never felt more guilty.

''Charlotte that was Michelle. She kissed me! I told her to fuck off but she just pushed herself on me! I swear I said to her to get away from me because I love YOU not her! Charlotte please!'' I beg and she doesn't respond.

''I love you. I love you so fucking much'' I come closer to her and I crouch down so I can look her in the eyes. I put my hand on her knees and, surprisingly, she doesn't move them ''I love you more than anything. I honestly can't stress that enough. You mean the absolute world to me and without you I would still be the unhappy Joe I was a year ago. You brought me back to life. I love you so much and knowing that you're hurting is the worst feeling I have ever felt.'' I say and after a few seconds she looks up into my eyes.

''You love me?'' She asks and I chuckle lightly.

''Of course I do silly!'' I say and she smiles.

''Joe I have been getting weird calls from someone, they were saying how they're going to hurt one of us if we don't split up'' She says and I squeeze her arm.

''Don't worry baby, I will sort this out.'' I say and she stands up to hug me. We stand there for about 10 minutes and she then pulls away slightly to look me in the eyes. She kisses me and I couldn't be happier.

''I'm sorry. I should have stayed and hear you out before I wrote that note and just ran away.'' She says and kisses me again.

''Don't worry. At least we're together again'' I say and press my forehead against hers.

''I need to shower.'' She says.

''Me too'' I say.

''Well I guess we're just going to have to take one together'' She says and smirks at me. I kiss her and pick her up to carry her into the bathroom. I run the shower and we get undressed. Once we're done with the shower we get dressed into some comfy clothes and fall sleep in bed watching TV. I'm so glad I still have her by my side.
