-A friendship fic-

At the slam of the door, Gyuvin goes running down the driveway, blazer half on, tie undone and about to slip off, a pancake slathered in butter between his teeth. It was a usual Tuesday morning for the school boy, late for school per usual. He clambers onto his bike haphazardly, puts his arm through the other sleeve of his blazer, fixes his tie so it doesn't fall off, and shoves the pancake fully into his mouth. With adrenaline pumping through his veins, Gyuvin rides off down the street.

Being late was in his blood. No matter how many times he set an alarm, or asked his parents to wake him up, he somehow always ended up being late. At this point he had given up trying, and just accepted that he was going to have this mad rush every morning to get to school on time. He looked forward to next year, when he'll be at university, his old math tutor Hanbin told him about how flexible his schedule will be. Maybe not flexible enough to avoid early morning's entirely, but as long as it wasn't everyday, he was happy.

Thinking about Hanbin, quickly turned into thinking about his little brother Yujin. Despite being a few years apart in age, Yujin was his best friend. He remembered when they first met, back when Gyuvin was struggling with math in middle school. He had just finished a tutoring session with Hanbin, and as he was leaving, he saw this kid playing with sticks in the garden. Turns out Yujin was trying to build a fence around an ant hill, so that people would stop stepping on the ants. Gyuvin thought that was cute, so he helped the boy, and they've been inseparable ever since.

Although, something happened a couple weeks ago, that really bummed Gyuvin out. The thing is, he saw Yujin as the most adorable, little squishy thing in the whole world. He couldn't help but hug him, and squish his cheeks whenever he got the chance, but Yujin always complained about it. Gyuvin usually ignored his complaints, however, it all changed when they were hanging out two weeks ago.

"Do you really not like skinship?"

"Oh uh- no... I don't."

"Okay, I'll stop."

Why they hell would he ask that? Of course Yujin didn't like it, and now Gyuvin was suffering. How can you put such a cute human in front of him, and expect him to resist squishing him like a stuffed bunny plushie? It was unfair. He wanted to respect his friend, but he really regretted asking the question.

The loud blaring of the school bell snaps Gyuvin out of his train of thought. He rides onto the school grounds, swerving through the crowd of kids all trying to get to class. By some miracle he had arrived before the second bell, so he actually felt relaxed slotting his bike into the rack. His classroom was on the third floor, but before heading there, he stops off on the second floor to see Yujin. He did this everyday, since the boy had a myriad of tutoring sessions and extra curricular activities that he did during and after school hours. Gyuvin didn't have the brain capacity to remember them all, so it was easier to swing by at the beginning of the day, that way he would know when he could meet up with him between classes.

Gyuvin doesn't even check Yujin's inside, before he drags open the window, and leans into the classroom. Luckily Yujin was there, sitting at his desk in the middle of the room, unlike that one time last month, where all Gyuvin got was berated by Yujin's teacher for interrupting his class. He was thankful his teacher wasn't here right now, or he'd probably have gotten a similar scolding. Surprisingly, he notices that Yujin was surrounded by his classmates today. It's not that Yujin didn't have friends- well, that was sort of true, but it wasn't because he was unlikable, he just preferred to focus on his studies.

"Yujin!" He calls to him, but Yujin didn't seem to hear it over the loud chatter of his classmates. "Hey you." He taps the kid at the desk beside the window. "What are they gossiping about?" The boy looked a bit confused, so he points to the kids surrounding Yujin.
