"Medicine...tea...tissues, and- huh?" Hanbin digs through the flimsy plastic bag frantically, his wide eyes searching for the chocolate he was sure he bought. As the elevator doors open, he lets out a disappointed sigh, assuming that he probably just forgot to pack the item. "Oh well, at least I managed to get everything else." He mumbles to himself while walking down the hall.
After spending the whole day caring for his sick boyfriend, Hanbin took a late night trip to the convenience store to stock up on some supplies. Matthew had been craving something sweet all day, but from a quick google search, Hanbin found that it's not actually good to eat sweets when you're sick. This obviously made the sick boy very sad, so Hanbin did some more research, and found that chocolate is actually beneficial for sick people, and decided to buy that instead. Out of everything he could have left at the store, he knew Matthew would be most upset about this. That's why he felt a bit nervous when walking back into Matthew's apartment.
He doesn't announce his presence, in case the boy was sleeping, he simply slips his shoes off at the front door, about to head towards the bedroom when he hears a loud smashing sound come from the kitchen.
"Why are you out of bed?" Hanbin questions in concern, seeing his boyfriend standing among shards of broken mug.
"I wanted to *sniffle* make some tea." Matthew replies innocently.
No matter how much he heard his boyfriend speak, Hanbin's heart still panged a little when he heard how hoarse his voice was. It just sparked that instinct inside of him, that made him want to protect the boy. With a gentle smile, Hanbin carefully walks over to Matthew, lifts him up and places him neatly on the counter. "Couldn't you have waited until I got home?"
Matthew shakes his head, his lips falling into a pout. "I need to make myself feel better quick, I just remembered I have an essay due tomorrow."
"Okay...how much of this essay do you have left?" Hanbin asks hesitantly, he really wanted Matthew to just focus on getting better.
"I haven't even started it yet."
"Oh- could you ask for an extension?" He sighs as Matthew shakes his head again. "Alright then...here's what we'll do, you go back to bed and I'll make you tea."
"What about my essay?" Matthew whines. "I need to get it done."
A small chuckle slips past Hanbin's lips, he thought his boyfriend was so cute when he got whiny. "Don't worry about that for now." He boops his little red nose, then picks him up again and carries him out of the kitchen.
While Matthew headed back to bed, Hanbin made quick work of cleaning up the broken mug and making Matthew a fresh cup of tea. This essay reveal wasn't ideal, but if Matthew really needed to get it done, then Hanbin had to find a way of making that happen...without Matthew ending up more sick of course.
"Here's your tea." Hanbin says, waiting for Matthew to take the cup, before he places a fresh box of tissues on the side table.
Matthew holds the tea in his sweater paws, to protect his skin from the hot cup, he blows on the liquid to cool it down. "Where's my chocolate?"
"I think I left it at the store." Hanbin winces, his face scrunching in guilt as he see's the flicker of sadness that crosses Matthew's face. "I'm sorry, I can go back-"
"No it's okay," Matthew interrupts him, patting the space beside him softly. "I just want you here with me."
That sweet comment was enough to melt Hanbin's heart, and if the essay wasn't in the forefront of his mind, he would have jumped straight back into bed with Matthew. However, he made his boyfriend wait a little longer, as he retrieved Matthew's laptop from the coffee table in the living room.
"Let's get this essay done." Hanbin settles himself under Matthew's sheets, and to the surprise of the younger, he doesn't hand over the laptop. Hanbin see's the boys confusion, chuckling a little, he opens the laptop and turns it on. "I was thinking we could work on it together, that way it'd be less tiring for you."
It was a good thing, that Hanbin and Matthew both studied English literature, because that meant Hanbin could easily assist Matthew with his work. Plus, being a whole year older added an extra benefit, since Hanbin had already completed all of the topics Matthew was studying this year.
"What is the essay on?" He asks, opening up a new document.
"Umm- something about tropes..." Matthew trails off trying to remember the exact thing his professor had said.
A smirk tugs at Hanbin's lips as, without hesitation, he types 'Examining the use of tropes within different aspects of storytelling - by Seok Matthew' onto the page. His smile only gets bigger when he hears the quiet 'hmm?' of confusion come from Matthew.
"I really got lucky having you as a boyf-" Matthew's giggles were cut off by a sneeze, and Hanbin rushes to pull out a tissue for the boy.
"Bless you." Hanbin says, watching Matthew blow his nose.
"Ugh I hate being sick." Matthew whines, dropping his head onto Hanbin's shoulder.
"I know baby." Hanbin strokes his hair gently, smiling at the boy who was looking up at him with big sparkly puppy dog eyes. He places a sweet kiss on his forehead. "Lets just get this essay done quick, and then you can sleep."
Matthew hums lightly, veering his gaze over to the screen, he keeps his head on Hanbin's shoulder. Hanbin also puts his focus on the screen, and for the next ten minutes, they collaboratively work on the essay. Hanbin did most of the heavy lifting, since Matthew was tired and his throat hurt, he didn't want him thinking or talking too much. Soon enough, he didn't hear anything from Matthew at all, realizing that the boy had fallen asleep.
As Matthew's quiet raspy snores filled the room, Hanbin just smiles to himself, and continues writing the essay. He didn't mind doing it, especially seeing how much Matthew was suffering. He'd probably get scolded by him once he was better, claiming it was some form of cheating, but Hanbin didn't mind. He'd rather that, than Matthew get in trouble with his professor.
Although, all he could think about now, was ways to get this essay done as fast as possible, because he really wanted to cuddle his boyfriend.

I really want to write more fluff, but I'm very out of my element, so I hope this is good.
@kkczennie not exactly what you asked for, but a Mattbin sick fic nonetheless. I decided to make this Mattbin since you requested it.
