Face pressed against his palm, Hao leans his elbow on the table, a long sigh slipping from his lips. His eyes flicker over to the alpha he had just been speaking to, who was now walking to his next date, wearing the most smug smile you could imagine. It makes Hao roll his eyes, since their short date had gone terribly. An alpha's pride is unmatched, of course he wouldn't have picked up on it, none of the alphas he dated tonight had that awareness.

It wasn't that Hao was opposed to dating an alpha, it's just that every one he has ever met irked him in the same ways. He only agreed to come to this stupid speed dating event, because it was run by his close friends. Otherwise, he would have been home right now, relaxing in a hot bath and drinking his favorite wine.

Though, he was willing to give it a chance, even if it ruined his Saturday night plans. He was an omega, falling for an alpha was inevitable, wasn't it? I mean it's what his mother always told him, 'A beta can't look after you, you're too pretty son, you need a strong alpha to protect you.' She'd say that once he met the right alpha, everything would make sense, and that he wouldn't be able to fight the love that would bloom in his heart...or some nonsense like that.

As much as he came into this with an open mind, the night went exactly how he expected it to go. The first alpha he dated, wouldn't let him get a word in edgewise, rambling on and on about his high paying job and massive car collection. Oppositely, the second alpha he dated, actually let him speak, but every time he mentioned something he liked, he'd make comments like 'that's such an omega hobby.' Then the last guy he dated, wouldn't shut up about how good he was in bed, and that'd he'd easily get Hao pregnant. That would have sounded repulsive to any normal person, but it especially disgusted Hao, as he didn't even want to have children. Alphas never ask about that sort of stuff, they think all omegas are the same.

There was no point sticking around, if he was just going to have to put up with more unbearable conversations from alphas. Grabbing his bag and coat, Hao heads towards the exit, but just as his fingers brush the handle, he hears his name called.

"Hao! Are you leaving already?"

He see's his friends, the ones running the event, come over. Matthew and Jiwoong had your classic alpha and omega love story, where everything just magically clicked into place.

"Yeah, I haven't really meshed with anyone." He says, ignoring the urge to call out their terrible selection of alphas.

Matthew didn't seem too shocked by that, but he did shoot a disappointed glance to his alpha. "Okay...I was just hoping you'd be able to meet someone, you've been single for as long as I've known you."

"I guess I just haven't met the right alpha yet."

Hao spoke the words that he thought they'd want to hear from him, but in all honestly, he didn't think he'd ever find the right alpha. It wasn't only about their self centered, self righteous, overly boisterous personalities, Hao had never really found himself attracted to alphas. Sure, some of them were good looking, but it didn't make him weak at the knees. Probably the biggest reason he had no interest in alphas, was due to their scent's. He had never once found an alphas scent pleasant.

"I hope the rest of the night goes well." Hao smiles at his friends, before walking out of the door.

The cold November wind instantly wrapped around his body, causing him to quickly slip on his coat, buttoning it up to the very top. He regretted not bringing his car now, since he didn't really feel like walking home in this temperature, but his apartment was only a couple of streets away. It wouldn't have made sense to bring his car.

"Oh I know you're just playing hard to get- we clicked so well in there."

That strangely familiar voice caught Hao's attention, and when he turned towards it, he saw something that made his eyes flare with anger. One of the alphas he had dated tonight, had a small, shaking omega pinned against the wall. The poor omega looked terrified, his responses coming out as only quiet mumbles.
