“No.”

The words rang throughout the garden. The wind carrying it to Rajveer's ears as bad news but instead of getting sad, his lips twitched up into a smirk. He had expected that.

He closed the ring box with a snap and stood up, placing his hands back in the pockets.

“Why ?” - he asked calmly, although already knowing the reason.

She looked at him in disbelief. “Why ? You are proposing a girl who is already committed to someone else and when she is refusing, you are asking why ?”

“So you don't want to marry me because of Vivek ?”

She couldn't believe how he was so calm. “Yes. I don't and won't marry you because I'm committed and am getting married next month.” - she replied just as relax but her tone stronger than steel.

Rajveer's patience snapped at the last line. His calm demeanor changed in an instant and his eyes gained back it's intensity. Hadn't he been right in saying that God wanted him to do everything his way ? His hand shot out towards hers, his fingers curling around her wrist. His grip was not painful but definitely firm.

“Let me show you something.” - he said and started walking out of the garden and towards the entrance door of the palace. She was in heels and having difficulty in keeping up with his strides, that too, angry strides, and had to jog.

He bursted open the entrance door and crossed the long hall before taking the stairs. Then the second staircase and then the third before stepping onto third floor. Crossing several doors, he flung open a large oak door and entered with her.

‘He has an in-house cinema ?!’ - her brain wondered amid the chaos as he descended the stairs of the large room which had seats on both sides just like a cinema hall and finally dropped her wrist as he came to a stop infront of the huge projector screen.

He picked up a remote and pressed a button which turned the projector on. The video that came into play, shook the ground beneath her feet.

“Vivek...” - she whispered involuntarily.

Vivek was tied to a chair in a dark room. His face was visible because of the flashlight the recorder of the video was using to record his video. His left eye was swollen and black, his corner of the mouth was bleeding as well while he tried to break free from the ropes.

“GOD! WHO ARE YOU ? AND WHAT DO YOU WANT ?” - he screamed looking at the camera, probably at the man who was recording the video.

A punch came straight to his right ribs and he bent over in pain and the screen went blank. Her eyes snapped to Rajveer in horror who threw the remote back on the seat and locked his gaze with her.

“Are you crazy ?! What Vivek has got to do in all of this ?! Why are you doing this with him ?!” - she shouted at him but his demeanor remained relax.

“You said because of him, you won't marry me. And I already knew that so I had to find a solution to the problem no ?” - he asked smilingly.

She was onto him in a flash. Her hands grabbing his collar as she stared daggers at him. But still, he found himself mesmerized. Her eyes were lit. With anger, with annoyance, with a fire that wanted to consume him. And he was, without complains, without questions, ready to get burned.

“I won't marry you regardless of being engaged or not! You know why ? Because you are a CRIMINAL! A MURDERER! You don't hesitate, hell don't even blink before taking a life! The footage is a proof that you don't care whether he lives or die! How can I marry such an insensitive person ?!” - her voice was low, icy. The cold biting at his heart.
