Rajveer left the gym around 8 the next morning. His black tracksuit drenched in sweat, along with his hair, he took a sip from the bottle as he made his way towards the bedroom. He had not been able to sleep last night even for a second.

Reason ? Samaira.

She had not talked to him all day yesterday. Hadn't even joined him at dinner resulting in him skipping the supper as well since he lost his appetite. Despite his attempts to talk to her, she was unresponsive. And it f*cking hurt! He was agitated. Restless. Helpless infront of her silence.

He quietly entered the room, in order to not disturb her, but he was surprised to find her standing infront of the dresser, fully ready wearing high waisted woolen black pants with tie neck white blouse. Her hair was tied up in a high ponytail but the most important thing he noticed was the absence of nuptial chain in her neck.

His chest ached.

“Going somewhere ?”

“Office.” - she said without looking at him as she placed her phone and other things in the purse.

He blinked at her in disbelief. “Office ? But you had said you'll extend your leave.” - his tone held a touch of desperation, helplessness.

But she didn't react.

“Change of mind.” - she replied succinctly in the same monotonous voice.

She made to by pass him but he held her wrist and pulled her back, making her stand infront of him.

“Vivek tried to burn one of my factories. Two workers were there who, because of my alert and attentive guards, were saved else the murder of two innocent men had been over his head!” - he said but her expressions didn't change.

“And the burial ? Who has lost his life this time who got buried as well with none the wiser ?” - she asked sharply, getting herself free of his hold.

He looked away, heaving a sigh. He didn't have the patience to tell her about the whole fiasco of Oberoi's son's death at his hands. Neither wanted to involve her in such matters.

“Why are you focusing on such things Samaira ? Let those matters stay to me.” - he said, almost pleading.

But her expressions turned cold. “That's what I'm doing exactly. You handle your matters and I'll handle mine. And the first one is, joining back office from today.” - she said calmly and walked out of the room.

He growled and threw the water bottle on the floor with force. Why couldn't she understand ? He couldn't live without her, couldn't even breath either, then why was she testing his patience ?!

Samaira was warmly welcomed by her brother and team as it was her first day at work after marriage. She received bouquets giving perfect false smiles in return that had all her team members assured she was happily married.

All but Kavin.

“So how come office so soon ?” - Kavin asked as they took seat in her cabin. “I thought you and Rajveer will plan out some vacation...”

Samaira didn't miss the brotherly doubt in his eyes as he observed her to check was she really happy. She put on a radiant smile on her face before answering.

“You know me Kavin, I can't stay at home for long. So I expressed my wish of joining back to Rajveer and he instantly agreed. You would have guessed by now that he can't deny me anything.” - she said with a grin.

She had become so used to of lying to her family now that she sounded convincing even to herself.

The slight crease on Kavin's forehead disappeared and he smiled. “That's for sure. No doubt in it!” - he said with a chuckle which she reciprocated.
