The breakfast was a joyous affair. Filled with animated conversations and hearty laughters.
“God Rajveer! Why don't you and Samaira stay till evening ?” - Sonia insisted as the lively vibe of the house was too cozy to let go yet.
Rajveer smiled. “We would have Mom but Samaira and I are invited to a party. It's basically a lunch at one of my business associates but he has invited all the partners, making it a small gathering. So we are going there.” - he reasoned politely.
Sonia pouted but understood nonetheless. “Okay but your and Samaira's proper dinner is due. Take out time some day.” - she said.
“Whenever you'll call Mom, we'll be here.” - he said making Sonia smile wide.
Samaira looked at him, a soft smile gracing her face. The more he respected her family, the more she... she what ?
“But you are coming to Sajawat this Saturday, aren't you ?” - Kavin's voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
“This Saturday ?” - Rajveer frowned.
“Yes. Sajawat is completing 25 years. Samaira, you didn't tell Rajveer ?” - Kavin asked with a frown.
Truth be told, amid all the chaos in her personal life, she herself had forgotten that it was Sajawat's anniversary coming Saturday.
“Oh it slipped off my mind.” - she said, smiling apologetically.
“It's alright.” - Rajveer said comfortingly. “So, is there any celebration taking place ?” - he asked addressing Kavin.
“Yes. A small party where Dad will be honoured.” - Kavin told him with a smile.
“I tried hard to make them understand that it's not necessary but these kids have refused to listen to me.” - Yashwant said.
“You deserve it Dad!”
Rajveer's heart tugged as Kavin, Samaira and Natasha said that in unison. He could see Yashwant's eyes moistening with a proud smile on his face. A father's love...
Samaira observed the nostalgic look in his eyes and placed a comforting hand on his thigh, making him look at her. She didn't say it, but her eyes said ‘I am with you’ and his answering smile was all thanks.

The lunch was just as Samaira had expected. Grand and formal with people who looked criminal by mere faces. The surprising element was, all Rajveer's associates were his father's age. He was the only one among them who surpassed them in everything at such a young age.
Another weird yet common element of the party was the wives of those old businessmen that were their daughter's age. She was not surprised when the ladies later revealed that they were either second or third wife of their husbands.
“So you have this ring on!”
Samaira was standing with a group of wives of the businessmen after the lunch, a glass of mocktail in her hand while the rest sipped on alcoholic drinks, when one lady exclaimed that.
She felt conscious as all the ladies looked at her ring with widened eyes.
“Uh yes, Rajveer proposed me with this.” - she said with a slightly nervous smile, not knowing the reason of their wonder.
“God you are SO lucky!” - the other lady said and the rest nodded, sighing wistfully.
Samaira frowned. They deemed her lucky because of a ring ?
“You know, I so wanted that ring. My husband tried his best but Mr. Shekhawat beat him to it.”
Samaira's frown deepened. She was missing on something.
