As I reached the front door of my house, I looked at my watch and saw that it was 6:38P.M. I groaned as I put my hand on the freezing cold knob of the door and turned it. Locked. Of course. I grabbed my key from my back pocket and put it the key hole.
I turned the key and opened the door. "I'm home!" I screamed as I closed the door. I threw my backpack on the couch and slid out of my Uggs. "Where have you been?" my dad asked, walking out of the with a pan and a rag in his hand. "I'm sorry dad I was at the library studying for a test and the time just got away from me," I lied.
"That's my girl," my dad smiled, "but next time look at the time." I nodded. I walked upstairs and into my room. Closing the door, I stripped and got into my pjs. God was I tired. I walked into my bathroom and brushed my teeth. I walked out of my bathroom and plugged my phone into the charger. After that, I turned off the lights and hopped into bed. I made sure my alarm clock was set and it wasn't too long until I drifted off to sleep.
I was walking into school when someone stopped me. "You are nasty," he said as we walked to his friends, laughing. I looked at them for a few seconds and then continued walking to math. "That was weird," I thought to myself. I passed a group of girls that were looking at their phones, giggling. One girl looked up at me and asked, "Did you enjoy camp?" The girls around her laughed as I took her phone and looked at it. Oh. My. God. I watched as a girl was kissing a pillow and saying, "I love you so much Mike. Marry me?" I threw the phone to the girl and ran. Just ran.
I bumped into someone. I looked at the person through blurry eyes and saw it was Mike. "Get away from me you creep," he growled, pushing me away from him and walked to Julia. She gave me an evil smile as she grabbed Mike and started making out with him.
I woke up with a jump, "It was just a dream," I said to myself as I laughed in relief. "I have to get the CD away from her!" I said to myself. I sighed, "I will never be able to though." I looked at the time to see that it was only 3:01A.M. I still had like 3 hours left to sleep. I sighed, and then realized that my throat was so dry. I sat up and walked to my bedroom door. I opened it and looked both ways to see if anyone was in the hallway. Seeing no one was, I walked out of my room and jogged downstairs. The kitchen light was on and there was a figure rummaging through the fridge.
As I walked into the kitchen the figure turned to look at me. It was Josh. He was wearing a black tang top and a hair of basketball shorts. "Hey, what are you doing up lil sis?" my brother asked me. "I had a nightmare, it's nothing. I just decided to come get a glass of water," I said, shrugging, "How 'bout you?"
"Couldn't sleep, too much on my mind," Josh sighed. I jumped up on the counter as Josh got a glass and poured water into it. He handed it to me, and I thanked him. "Anything I could help with?" I asked, taking a sip of my water. He sighed, "Maybe? I don't know."
"Just tell me," I instructed. He sat down next to me on the counter. "Well, you see, there's this girl I like in our school, but I don't know how to ask her out, and I mean really like. And like-," he broke off with a sigh, putting his head in his hand, "I don't even know, lil sis." I patted his shoulder and said, "Well, what kind of things does she like to do?"
"Well, from what I know, she likes to play video games, watch horror movies, read, hang out with friends, relax at the park-lots of things," he said, looking up at me with pleading eyes. "What kind of food does she like?" I asked, an idea forming in my head. "She loves Chinese food."
"Okay, so here's what you should do, ask her out while her finds aren't around her so they won't make her confused or anything, but make it in a cute way. Like get the girl her favorite kind of flowers and propose a movie date to see something scary in the movie theater, then after the movie, take her to the park for a Chinese dinner. While on the way home, if you enjoyed the date and you think she did, ask her to go to the arcade for a second date or something," I said, sliding off the counter and landing on the cold floor with my bare feet.
I walked over to pour myself more water before I went back up to bed. "Awesome, okay great. Thanks lil sis," Josh said, getting off the counter and stretched. He gave me a quick side hug and said, "You should head to get though, it's late."
I waved him off as I walked over the kitchen and up the stairs. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, what are you, my big brother or something?" I called back at him with a smirk. "You know it!" he hollered back. I laughed at him and walked into my bedroom. I shut the door behind me with my empty hand.
I put my glass over what down on my nightstand on the side of my bed. I flopped back down into my bed and grabbed my phone. I hit the power button and the screen lit up. I squinted at the brightness. After my eyes adjusted to the light, I saw that I had a message from an unknown number. I opened it up and read it. 'hey it's Mike you up?'
Oh my god! How did he get my number? I looked at what time I received the text message and it said 2:58A.M. I quickly sent him a message saying, 'hey yeah I am. howd u get my number though?' I saved his number and waited for a text. 'it's a secret ;)' he replied. I smiled and said, 'lol fine be that way.'
'So what r u up to?'
'Nothing lying in bed hbu?'
'Same but sorry gtg my dad just got home but c u tomorrow right?'
'No its fine and yes u will :) night.'
'Night ;)'
I put my phone on my nightstand beside me and smiled. I fell asleep soon after with that smile on my face.
