Well That Was Unexpected

Chapter 19- Starting Slow

Tony's P.O.V.

I could hear howls behind me as I jumped over a fallen tree. 'They lost me,'  I thought in relief. I turned left to miss hitting a tree and continued to run to the cabin. As I reached the cabin, I Changed and got a change of clothes from the trunk of the car in front of the cabin. I out them on and sprinted into the cabin. I heard Tyler talking to the others in the kitchen.

"They are coming!" I yelled as I burst into the kitchen. He stopped and looked at me. "What?" he asked. "Scott and his pack found us and took me captive and tried to make me tell them where you are. Scott kept punching me and when he looked away, I kicked him in the face and ran here."

"What were you thinking? You shouldn't have ran here!" Tyler hollered at me. "I lost them! I don't think they know I'm here!" I protested. Tyler slammed his fists on the counter and shouted, "Scott has been here before! I made you bring the car to the lake house and bring another one here for a reason! I knew they would track you! You shouldn't have been so stupid!"

"Look, I'm sorry! What are we going to do now?" I asked. Tyler sighed angrily and ran his hand through his hair. "We have to get out of here now. Tell Kyle and the rest that we are leaving. Get the girl and put her in my truck. I'll deal with her." he said. I nodded as Scott jumped into the room. I jumped back in surprise.

Scott was watching his brother as Tyler's eyes widened in surprise and backup into the counter. His pack growled as some of them approached me. Scott turned away and left the kitchen. His pack surrounded us. I gulped and Changed along with the others. 'More fighting, I see,' I thought as one of the wolves jumped at me.

Scott's P.O.V.

I walked numbly over to the body and dropped to my knees. I rolled her body over and looked over her face. Bruises and cuts cover it. There were deep cuts on her cheek, bruises along her jawline, covering her left eye, and one big bruise covered her dump on her forehead. Her nose was bleeding, along with her lip.

Her blood soaked blouse was rip in multiple places. I put my fingers on her wrist and felt the faint beat of her pulse. I sighed in relief. "Kayla," I sobbed, pulling her up to me, "Ka-Kayla, I'm so sorry. I-I didn't mean for any of this to happen." My tears dropped into her hair as I squeezed her close to my body. I know I shouldn't be crying like I was since I'm the future Alpha, but I couldn't help it. This was my mate. My tears just flowed freely. I picked her up and held her closely me to as I rushed out the cabin. I could hear the howls of fighting wolves in background.

I opened the car door that was outside and gently put Kayla down in the back seat. I sent James a quick mind message that I found Kayla and that to go to the police station and be ready for us. I also told the others back in cabin that I found my mate, that she was barely breathing, and needed help right away. I hot wired the car and when it started, I took no time to speed off to the police station.

Kayla's P.O.V.

Voices corrupted around me, though I couldn't make out what they were saying. I felt something wet drip down my face from my forehead. I tried to reach up and touch my forehead, but I couldn't move my arm. It was too heavy. I prided my eyes open, only to see a blue ceiling. I soon realized that the drops of water were coming from a rag on my forehead. I blinked slowly and turned my head slightly to the left.

Sitting in a chair next to me was a blurry person. I blinked again until my vision was finally clear. It was Scott. He was sleeping, his hands in his lap. I looked around to see if anyone else was in the room with us, but no one was. 'Where am I?' I asked myself.
