Jane X Reader

They smiled at you. They were one of four people who really cared about you. Besides (Name), there really only was Roxy, Dirk and Jake who actually care for you. Your brother? Jake always takes you out on adventures to take your mind off all your problems. Dirk usually sung you a few songs to make you smile. Roxy was your bff and always could bring a smile to your face, even if she was drunk all the time. (Name), oh they could do just about anything to make you smile and blush. You hated to admit it but you really liked them. In a like-like situation here. You headed down to the town's famous bakery and began your shift. Surely you didn't want to get company, but that usually happened by your 4 best friends. "Jane, can you bake a few cakes for us?" Two little twins ask you. "Of course I can! What would you like them to be this time boys?" You say, knowing the twins often show up and want you to make them cakes. "Oooh Red Velvet cakes with strawberry icing Miss Jane!" The one twin says. "Yeah tha would be amazing Miss Jane for our cakes to look like that!" The other twin says. "Okay. Come back in a few hours and the cakes should be done!" You say and begin to work on the twin's cakes. "Jane, you busy right now?" Jade asks. "Yeah, why?" You ask. "Oh. Someone wishes to speak with you right now." Jade replies and takes your hand and drags you towards the person. 'Damn it. It's (Name)!' You say in your head. "Hey Jane, what's up?" They ask. "I'm working on a few cakes. Why what's up with yourself?" You say politely and smile. "Oh, well have you heard that Roxy is having a party tomorrow night? She said that everyone is gonna get drunk and all and it is gonna be a killer party!" They say and run out of the bakery. You start to work on the cakes again in peace this time, putting music in and doing your work.

After you finish your work for the day, you close up the bakery and smile. 'Tomorrow will be better than today.' You think to yourself.

You smile at the thought of Jane. She was really good at cooking and better than everyone at it. She always could make you smile, and maybe she would come to Roxy's party tomorrow night at her mansion. You begin to text Jane when someone else texts you:
JH: Hey (Name). It's Jade. Jane was wondering about that party at Roxy's. Is everyone invited or what?
(Name): Oh everyone was invited. I just told Jane first because the three of us have been best friends for years now. Plus it should be really fun tommorow too! Think about it.
JH: Okay I will! I will tell Jane and see if she is interested. Maybe the trolls would be interested as well?
(Name): Kanaya could probably be interested and maybe Gamzee? Idk isn't he always high or something?
JH: Yeah I think so.... Well see you tomorrow. Jane will text you later whenever she gets home.
(Name): K bye Jade!
JH: Bye : D
You end the conversation with Jade and think to yourself 'Why would Jane even go to the party if she refuses to always get drunk?' You sigh and just lie down on your bed, pondering that question until you finally pass out from exhustion.

'I know I should really go to Roxy's tomorrow night but I really don't wanna get drunk.' You think to yourself. 'Maybe (Name) will show up or something and then you could avoid drinking. Yeah that will work!'. You text (Name) and ask them if they would be going to tomorrow night's party.

JC: Hey (Name), you going to that party tomorrow?

<12 hours later>

You get a few things ready for tomorrow and your outfit has to be perfect! You pick out a short blue dress that goes to your knees, a black belt, red flats, and a red bow to go in your hair. You put on the outfit to make sure it works and you notice something on your vanity. You pick it up and it reads:

Dear Jane,
Please don't hate me, my love, for wanting you to come to tomorrow's party. I know it must be hard to decide but I don't think I can come to the party my dear. I'm sorry for upsetting you ahead of time but I really am busy tomorrow... I have to move back to Illinois and I will miss you darling.... We never had a chance to be with one another and never will...

You drop the letter and start to cry. Why did it always have to be when you got your confidence that the person you love is leaving? You had no clue but you were going to make things straight. You rushed out to (Name)'s house as fast as you could and saw nobody inside. "Hello?!?!" You shouted frantically. "Anyone home?!?!" You shout and notice a kid with blonde hair come up to you. "Ma'am, this family has already left to go to the airport in town. Hopefully you can get there in time Jane." He says and smiles. "Thank you sir!" You say loudly and rush back into your door.

You speed down the highway to the airport as fast as you possibly can and spot (Name) inside the airport. "(Name)!!" You shout and rush to her side, smiling. "Hey Jane..." They say, tears forming in their eyes. "Back away from my (son/daughter) you fool." Their guardian says. "And what would you know about true love?" You ask, glaring at the guardian. "That it doesn't exist!" They shout and push you out of their way. "J-Jane!" (Name) says and rushes to your side. "(N-Name) I want you to know... That I love you... and I will never get to again..." You say and get up, rushing out of the airport with tears streaming down your face. The little guy you saw earlier with the blonde hair rushes to your side and pats your back. "I know how it feels to lose someone you love Jane... It sucks like hell and I promise you it will get worse before it gets better." He says cooly and smiles. "W-what's your name anyways?" You ask. "The name's Dave Strider, Jane. Sorry to keep calling you your first name instead of ma'am. Bro talks about you alot though, so I just know your name and face." He says and gets in the front seat. "I'll take you somewhere you will like Strider." You say and drive him to the bakery. "What is this place?" He asks. "Oh. It's the bakery and why don't I make you a cake?" You ask, smiling. "Okay. I will have (favorite cake) with (whatever you want on it)." He says and sits down at the table, waiting for it patiently.

Your guardian just glared at you when you boarded the airplane. 'I miss Jane' You thought. You began to think all if the fun times you had with her too and you never got to go to that party with Roxy and her too. Damn you wanted to just kiss her and pretend everything was okay when it really wasn't. "(Name), why did that girl attack you?" Your guardian asks. "Because she liked me. Why can't you understand that?" You say and glare at your guardian. "Because it is not right to the bible and-" They say before you shout "MAYBE YOU SHOULD CONSIDER HOW I FELT BEFORE FORCING ME TO LEAVE MY HOME AND MOVE AWAY FROM THE ONE PERSON I REALLY LOVED." "(Name), shut the fuck up." They say and sit far away from you on the plane. 'Fuck them.' You thought and began to daydream.

You finished the cake for Dave. It was amazing and you wrote "Thanks for being super rad about everything today Dave." on it in (Favorite flavor) icing. You handed Dave his cake and he smiled at it. "No problem Jane. Sometimes it's hard getting over things like this but we all have to move on sometimes." He says and takes a bite of cake. "Mmmm." He says and eats it all in 15 minutes tops.

<A few years later after highschool and college>
You sat at your bakery, waiting for the love of your life and finally gave up. You started to cry and it brought attention to everyone around you. "Jane, you okay?" Jade asks. "I give up Jade. I thought that maybe (Name) would come back and I'm a fool for believing it too." You say and begin to sob harder. "Shhhh.... It's gonna be okay Jane. I promise she will come back soon." Jade says and hugs you. "Look we have a customer and I think that maybe you should take their order." Jade says and smiles. "Okay I will." You say and go behind the cashregister and smile, wiping your tears. "Hello there." The person says, having their hood covering their face. "What would you like?" You ask them. "Well I would like to-" They say before you recognize their voice. "(Name)!!!" You shout and smile, hugging them. "J-Jane wow... You look different..." They say and smile. "Well you have grown alot up in Illinois." You say and smile. "Look Jane, I can't talk right now. I have to go before (he/she)-" They say before their (boyfriend/girfriend) stands beside them. "Why were you hugging them Jane?" (He/She) says and glares at you. "Well you see, I used to know them. Plus I'm pretty sure your (boyfriend/girlfriend) still likes me after all these years." You say and give them the 'Shut the fuck up' face and smile. "Oh really. Hey (Name), who do you like more?" They say and grin, thinking it's them. You smash hot coffee into your crush's (boyfriend/grilfriend)'s face and smile. "Janey obviously! She is the best and better than you scumbag!" They say and rush behind the counter into your arms. You blush and smile. "(Boyfriend/Girlfriend's Name), We are through!" They say and smile. They get on their knees and hold out a ring with a donut on top and say "Janey, will you be my girlfriend?" "Of course I will be (Name)!" You shout and kiss your new (boyfriend/girlfriend). Jade takes a picture and smiles. "Awwwwwww!!!! You two love each other after all these years!!!!" She says and smiles, grinning like there was no tomorrow.
