You had let one of your best friends in this whole entire planet come over tonight, and you had to be ready. She had been having problems at school with human beings, and she was just about to give up. You became the kind Strider you are and invited her over for the weekend.

You lit a few candles you had from Christmas time, and dimmed the lights; almost as if it was a dinner date, but it wasn't. You had the place nice and tidy until you heard a huge crash coming from the other room.

You rush in to see the problem and Jake was sitting on your couch, knocked out. "Damn it Jake, how many times do I have to tell you that Roxy is coming over this weekend?" You mutter quietly under your breath, so the unconsious Jake wouldn't hear a thing.

Soon, after you carefully moved Jake into your attic, Roxy finally arrived. "Well hello there Dirk." She said, smiling like a dork would. You moved to let her in with her fifty different bags full of champagne and clothes for one weekend. She stumbled a bit, but you caught her before she hit the ground.

You carried her heavy bags upstairs for her, and placed them in the guest's bedroom. "Sorry for bringin' too much stuff, I just wanted to have some fun this weekend." She said, giggling afterwards. You just rolled your eyes playfully at her, and she grinned at her sucess. "Strider, you know what tomorrow is, right?" She asks.

Duh, it was obviously her birthday. There was no way it wasn't.

"Yeah, it's your birthday Roxy." You reply. "Mhm, and I'll be turning 19!" She smiles and trips over her own two feet. You lend her a hand afterwards and she only just smiles at you.

God, she was beautiful and she was one of your only friends anyways in this world, besides Jake and Jane.

"I-If you could excuse me for a moment, Lalonde, it would be very apreciated." You say, leaving the room at once and stepping out onto your porch to breathe.

Take a deep breath Strider, it's only Roxy Lalonde, not some chick you'll marry and love for the rest of your life.

<Roxy's POV>
What's taking him forever to return? Does he not feel good or did I manage to hurt him in some way? Maybe I should find him...

You get up and decide to look for the missing Strider, since he was nowhere to be seen. You looked just about everywhere until you stumbled upon him lying on the ground outside. You checked his pulse and saw that he was still alive, but you called 911 frantically to try and help him out.

"He should be fine in a few days." The doctor said, checking off things from his magical clipboard. "But he does need to rest for a bit before he can be up and about." He finishes.

But you don't have a "few days before he gets better" to wait for. You only have the weekend to hang out with him and so far it has been shit. You'd do anything right now to make sure he was your's, but it'd seem very unlikely.

"Thank you, again doctor, for helping my beloved friend out." You say, and stare at your lifeless friend. You love him soo much but never had the courage to tell him once, and now you can't say anything to him without waiting a few days for it....

"Dear Dirk Strider,

It's Roxy Lalonde, the girl who has always had a huge crush on you. I know I'll be long gone home before you see this, but this letter pertains your future. I know that you'd never believe it, but it's always been this way for a while. Jane tried to help me get over you, but that led to many hungover nights and violent actions. I may sound like an utter fool to you, but will you go out with me?" You wrote in a card and placed it at his hospital bedside.

You waited two days to see if your bestfriend would be at his own house, but that hadn't happened yet. Instead, a robber came inside his house and pointed a gun to your face.

"Put your hands behind your head and come with me." They spoke softly. You followed them quietly into the basement and then they took off their mask.

D-Dirk?!

<Dirk's POV>

"Sorry to keep you waiting, I just got released from the hospital. I appologize for not being able to leave earlier, but happy brithday!" You say, hugging her. "Thanks Dirk but why this whole act?" She asks. "To say "Yes" Roxy Lalonde to your card. Do you really think that I don't feel the same? Am I that cold-hearted? Of course not. I love you and never wanna see you EVER leave my sight. And if you do, well, I'm sorry for the loss..." You say, kissing her.

She lets out an adorable squeal from inside and hugs you a bit tighter. You don't mind at all, and just let her do her own thing.

Life was literally great, and nothing could ruin it.
