Chapter 5: The dock

"Zuko, sokka, Toph!" Aang called walking down the hall the next morning, "It's time to get up"

"Geez twinkle toes I'm up, just give me a minute" Toph yelled back.

Zuko climbed out of bed and opened to the door to speak to aang from the hall.

"And zuko you missed our morning training session. I came into see you about an hour ago but you were hard out so I let you sleep"

"Oh...right yeah, sorry aang"

Sokka joined them in the hall now, "but aang, it's early..." he groaned.

"Come on sokka it's fine! Kat and I have been up for hours training already. Suki must be on the way back from her run by now too" aang started to walk away, "you guys get ready and then come meet us in the courtyard"

"Whatever!" Sokka called back half joking half serious "I was up late anyway..."

"Doing what?" Toph had caught up to sokka and zuko in the hall now, "I heard you and zuko leave you rooms"

"We were just hanging out, Toph" zuko said back.

"He's right" agreed sokka turning to back into his room to get dressed.

"So late that you missed your morning training session?" Toph continued to question zuko.

"By a matter of fact yes, but not from doing whatever your imaging"

"If you say so sparky..." Toph teased heading onto the courtyard, she was dressed already.

Not long after sokka and zuko were on the way over themselves.

"Hey zuko?"

"Yeah?" Zuko looked at the water tribe boy as they made there way towards the courtyard.

"Last night was...fun"

"Yeah it was nice" zuko agreed smiling, holding the door open for sokka as the entered the courtyard.

"There you two are!" exclaimed katara, "here come sit" she jestered towards the stones in which the rest of the aang was perched eating breakfast.

"So what do you guys wanna do today?" asked aang enthusiastic as usual.

"Well, yesterday at the market suki and I saw these posters for these boats" Katara began.

"Yeah! And you can rent them for only one gold piece and you get the boat for the whole day" suki continued explaining.

"Sooo we were thinking we should all go out. Aang's gonna have to face ozai soon, it will be fun to have a free day" Katara finished.

"But I hate boats," Toph protested, "there's no ground"

"You'll be fine!" convinced sokka "that actually sounds like a great idea"

"Er yeah, I'm down" agreed zuko.

"Great! Let's go grab our things and will head out now then" aang agreed, making a plan.

"Zuko?" Sokka asked walking into his room a few minutes later.

"Uhum" zuko replied as sokka closed the door behind himself.

"Can I borrow some clothes...sorry I know that's weird but aang told me these were too water tribe for going out. And I figured you were probably the same size so-"

"No sokka of course you can it's fine" zuko opened the bag of stuff he'd brought.

"Oh okay," the water tribe boy smiled.
