The next morning, Malika woke up with a sense of determination. She knew that she couldn't continue avoiding the conversation with her parents any longer. It was time to confront them about Omar and make them understand her perspective.

Taking a deep breath, Malika walked to the  other wing, taking the stairs at a time before entering a grand living room where her parents were sitting. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she prepared herself for what was to come.

Her parent are sitted in a luxurious couch talking slowly about something.

Here it goes!

"Mom, Dad, can we talk?" she asked, her voice steady but filled with emotion.

Her parents looked up at her, their faces filled with curiosity. "Of course, Malika. What's the matter?" her mother responded, concern evident in her voice.

Malika took a seat on the couch opposite her parents and took a moment to gather her thoughts. She knew that this conversation would be difficult, but it was necessary for her own happiness.

"I need to talk to you about Omar," Malika began, her voice trembling slightly. "I appreciate that you think highly of him and see him as a potential husband for me, but I want you to understand that I don't feel the same way."

Her father's brows furrowed in confusion looking at Fatima before turning back at her. "But Malika, Omar is a good man. He has a stable job and can provide for you."

Good man! I hate him!

Malika's eyes welled up with tears as she tried to convey the depth of her emotions. "I know he has all those things, but love is more important to me than material possessions. I want to marry someone who truly loves me for who I am, not for what I can offer them."

Her mother reached out and placed a comforting hand on Malika's knee. "Sweetheart, we just want what's best for you. We believe that Omar can provide you with a secure future."

Malika felt a surge of frustration rise within her. "But what about my dreams and ambitions? What about the person I want to become? I can't sacrifice my own happiness for the sake of financial security."

Her father sighed deeply, his expression filled with concern. "Malika, we understand that you have dreams, but sometimes sacrifices need to be made for the greater good. We just want you to have a comfortable life."

"Why me?" Malika asked the one question that has been on her mind.

Her parent exchange glances for the second time before her mother sighed. "We love you so much Malika and we will always choose what best for you. Halima is also not an exception, she will accept whatever we decided for her. What I want you to understand is Omar and his family want you not Halima. As you all know, they have been a long time friends with this family, we will not destroy our reputation for some silly ideas of yours. The wedding date will be set when Halima find a suitor. We're done talking." Her mother said standing up and leaving the parlor.

Tears streamed down Malika's face as she realized that her parents were not going to easily accept her viewpoint. She felt a deep sense of hurt and disappointment.

"I need to go out for a while," Malika said softly, her voice filled with sadness. "I need some space to think."

Without waiting for her father's response, Malika quickly left the house and headed towards a nearby park. The cool breeze brushed against her face as she walked, providing a momentary respite from the turmoil within her.

As Malika sat on a bench in the park, she hesitated before reaching for her phone.

She wondered if it was wrong to reach out to him in her time of need. Would he judge her for the choices she had made? But deep down, Malika knew that Adam was still a stranger to her and this is just the beginning of there friendship but she couldn't resist the urge to see him.

Taking a deep breath, Malika dialed Adam's number that she had saved the other day. She held her breath as the phone rang. After a few moments, he picked up.

"H-Hi it's Malika."

"Malika? Ohh! How're you doing." Adam's voice came through the phone, music playing in the background.

Malika's voice trembled slightly as she responded, "Adam, I... I really need someone to talk to right now."

"What's going on? Are you okay?" His voice lace with concern.

"Yeah. This might sound crazy but can we meet up?"

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line before Adam replied, "Of course, Malika. I'll be there in a few minutes. Just hang in there."

Feeling a glimmer of hope, Malika wiped away her tears and waited for Adam to arrive. She couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt for reaching out to him, but she knew that she needed someone who would listen without judgment and she doesn't know why she confide in him.

As she sat on the bench, staring at the children playing and laughing, Malika questioned her own choices. Was she making a mistake by confiding in Adam? Would he understand the complexities of her situation?

Just as doubt began to creep in, she spotted a car parked at the side road. Adam got out and he started walking towards her with a determined look on his face which adds more handsomeness to him. He took a seat next to her, his presence bringing a sense of comfort.

"Hey" he said removing his black hood which reveals his ever so dark curly hair.

Dear God!

Malika swallow hard averting her gaze from him. "Hi, sorry to make you come here."

"It's actually nothing. I was looking forward to seeing you since yesterday, brave girl." He teased and Malika laughed.

"What's funny?"

"Nothing." Malika said looking at his blue eyes.

Adam smiles looking at her small pink hijab that was beautifully rapped around her face. He stood up holding up his hand for her to grab.

"Let's go. I want to show you something."

Malik's heart skipped for the hundreds time. She hesitated before excitedly putting her palms in his soft ones.
