27-Inlove

As Malika walked down the hallway with Aisha the next day, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to go wrong. And sure enough, as they turned the corner, she spotted him.

Adam.

The very person who had betrayed her, shattered her trust, and left her heartbroken. He was standing there, talking and laughing with his friends as if he hadn't caused her so much pain.

A wave of anger washed over Malika, but she composed herself. When they came close to them, she could feel his eyes on her.

"What an asshole!" Aisha said as they turn the corner making Malika smile.

"You can swear like that? You're really something else."

Aisha smiled upon seeing her friend's face. "And I didn't know you can hide your emotions like that."

Malika was going to say something when Aisha's phone rang. She fish it out of her black jeans pocket and answer it. After a moment she looked at her friend.

"Am sorry, my mom is in the hospital now. I have to go."

"Ya Salam. Is she alright?"

"Yeah. Is about her illness. The doctor said she's stable now but I have to go and stay with her."

Malika looked worried."Okay. May Almighty Allah grant her quick recovering. "

"Ameen. Bye."

"Bye"

She watched her friend go before she turn to go to the backyard. It was the quite place she enjoyed in the school. The place is always deserted and it brings peace to her aching soul.

She walk for a while before sitting down in a bench close to a tree. She took her books out and started reading. She was going to turn a page when a tall figure towers over her.

She raised her head and saw the last person she hated to see. Her heart boils with rage and hurt.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!!" Malika shouts as she saw him sitting down opposite her.

"What's wrong brave girl? Aren't we friends?"

She laughed out louder like a mad woman. Maybe because she is now!
"Who the hell do you think you're?!!! After everything you have done you still have the audacity to call us friends!!!!??"

"But.." He started saying.

"Don't act like you don't know, Adam!! You know exactly what you did!! And you made everything clear. You took your revenge and now its over!!! You have win!!! You have win Adam!!!" Malika spat, her voice dripping with venom.

Two of his friends looked on from afar, sensing the tension in the air, and they quickly made themselves scarce, leaving Adam to face the wrath of Malika alone.

"You betrayed me, Adam. You broke my heart!" Malika continued, her voice trembling with anger. "And I will never forgive you for that!! I will never!!"

Adam's face twitched with a mix of guilt seeing her sobbing, but Malika wasn't interested in his remorse. She had spent too many sleepless nights crying over him, too many days questioning her worth because of his actions.

"You got what you want in the end." she said, her voice firm and resolute. "And you did a very good job at it! I will not take my revenge because my religion has always been a peaceful one! I will let my God deal with you!."

Adam reached out to touch her arm, his blue eyes pleading which Malika has never seen before, but she quickly slapped his hand away.

"Don't you dare touch me!!" she hissed. "Don't you ever think of coming close to me!! I hate you! I hate you so much!!" She stood up and start putting her books inside her back pack.

"Listen please.." He took a step closer. And Malika took a step back, her anger slowly transforming into a sense of liberation. She had confronted the person who had hurt her, and she had stood up for herself.

"Don't you say anything!!" she said, her voice filled with conviction. "You should fucking stay away from me!!"

With that final statement, Malika turned on her heel and walked away, leaving a stunned Adam behind.

As she continued down the hallway, an unexpected feeling of empowerment surged through her She had confronted him and she had walked away stronger for it.

She knew that healing would take time, but in this moment, she vow to always be stronger.

Adam

Adam stood there, his face filled with a mix of shock and realization. He finally understood the gravity of his actions and the pain he had caused Malika. He has never thought this will pain her so much. Of course, all the moments he has spend with her was to get back to what she did to him when he was bullying and he got his revenge but since the day he leaked the video of the kissing, he wasn't himself. He has been feeling restless and thinking of her. He will look around the school every day for any sign of her but she wasn't there. And today when he saw her, he felt something that was so new to him. And now when she was crying he wanted to make it stop.

"I... I'm sorry, Malika," he muttered, his voice barely audible. "I don't deserve you"

"Hey man?" Amir tapped him on the shoulder. "Why do you look regretful? Isn't that what you wanted?"

Adam pushed his hand away glaring at him. "Shut the fuck up!!"

Amir was taken aback by his action before his brain click on something. This is the last thing that Amir will ever utter but it finally makes sence to him and his eyes widened in grave surprise.

"You're in love with her."
