"Where are you taking me?" Malika asked glancing at him at the passenger seat as he speeds on.

"To sell you to the bad guys." He said darkening his eyes at her before looking at the road.

Malika smiles at his playfulness. She looks at how he drives with one hand having zero care in the world.

Reckless!

After driving for a while outside the city, leaving the bustling city behind and venture into a quite secluded area. Adam finally parked at the side of the road in the middle of what Malika thought as 'nowhere'.

"Are you really going to sell me?"

Adam chuckled opening his car door." You will soon find out."

Adam and Malika walked. The air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers, and the sound of birds chirping added to the serenity of the place. Adam led Malika to a hidden garden, where vibrant flowers bloomed in abundance.

Beautiful!

Malika's eyes widened in awe as she took in the beauty of the surroundings. "Adam, this place is incredible! How did you find it?"

Adam chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Well, it's my little secret. I stumbled upon it during one of my explorations around the city. I thought it would be the perfect place to bring you."

Awwwn..

Malika smiled, feeling a sense of excitement building within her. She had always loved discovering hidden gems in her own country, and now Adam was sharing one with her. It made her feel closer to him.

As they walked through the garden, Adam began to engage Malika in a playful conversation, cracking jokes and making her laugh. His sarcastic remarks brought a lightness to the atmosphere, easing any tension that lingered within her.

"You know," Adam said with a smirk, "I've been told that my jokes are so bad, they could make flowers wilt."

Malika chuckled, playfully nudging him. "Well, lucky for you, these flowers seem to be thriving despite your jokes."

They continued their banter, their laughter echoing through the garden. As they reached a secluded bench beneath a blooming tree, Malika couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort and ease in Adam's presence.

Curiosity got the better of her, and she turned to him with genuine interest. "Adam, tell me more about your life in America. What was it like growing up there?"

Adam's smile faded slightly as he looked into the distance, lost in his thoughts.

"Am so sorry for intruding."

"No, it okay. A lot of people has been asking me about it."

Adam continue. "America is good but I prefer it here. I move in here last year and it has been the perfect decision!"

"Am glad you like it here but...I always thought you started the university from fresh."

"Nah. I was transferred. Actually I have graduated from Harvard. I even went to law school."

Malika's eyes widens. "What!? How!? Why?"

"Slow done brave girl." Adam chuckled before tuning his hand through his curly hair.

"It's complicated." He just said.

Malika waited for some minute to continue but he didn't.

"Well...we all have our problems."

Adam nodded. "To say the least. Growing up as a Moroccan-American, I often felt torn between two worlds. On one hand, I embraced my American upbringing, but on the other hand, I longed to connect with my Moroccan roots."

His half cast!

"My parent got divorced since when I was three, I have to grow up in America with my mom after so much disagreements from both parties. My father came back to Morocco, to his family. And now am here to live with him."

Malika listened attentively, sensing the underlying emotions in his words. She reached out to gently placed her hand on his arm, but decided not to.

"I can imagine how challenging that must have been," she said softly. "But now, being here in Morocco, you have the opportunity to explore your heritage and find that connection you've been longing for."

"But..just forget it." Malika said.

"Ask whatever you want to know. We're friends now." He said grinning.

"Uhm..are your parent both Muslims?"

Adam was silent for a while before he speaks. "My Dad is a Muslim and my Mom is a Christian."

"Okay...then what about you?"

Malika waited for the reply like her life depends on it.

"None"

"None?"

"Yeah. I don't believe in God or anything. A sort of an atheist." He shrugged.

"Wow." Malika said imagining the kind of person he is. Deep down, she wished Adam will have a test of her religion. But for now, she couldn't push herself to it bcox it can end there friendship.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the garden, Malika and Adam sat together on the bench. The peacefulness of the surroundings mirrored the growing bond between them.

In that moment, Malika realized how much she had come to cherish Adam's presence in her life. He had become more than just a friend; he was someone she could confide in and rely on. And as they continued their conversation, sharing stories and dreams, they both knew that this unexpected connection was something worth holding onto.
