Jackie's Conversation with Tommy

This will be a short chapter since it is just their conversation. 

Catherine and Jackie enter Tommy's trailer, the air thick with tension. Jackie takes a deep breath, bracing herself for the conversation ahead, while Catherine stands by her side, offering silent support.

Tommy is sitting at his table and looks up with a smug smile as they enter.

TOMMY (mockingly)

Well, Jackie and Jackie's friend. What's this all about? You two come to give me more acting tips?

I'm just teasing... What are we clearing up this early in the day?

Catherine's grip on Jackie's hand tightens, exchanges a knowing look with Jackie, silently encouraging her to speak up.

JACKIE (firmly)

No, Tommy. We're here to talk about boundaries. Catherine and I are in a real relationship, and I know we should have told you from the beginning but we didn't think that you would take this off-screen act we have going on that far. We need to set up boundaries and we need you to respect that.

Tommy's eyes widen, surprise mingling with something else—disappointment.

TOMMY (stammering)

Wait, what? You and Catherine? But... I thought...

CATHERINE (cutting him off)

You thought wrong, Tommy. We've been keeping it private, but it's time you knew the truth. Jackie and I are together, and your off-screen relationship is strictly for publicity.

Tommy's face twists into a mixture of frustration and longing.

TOMMY (defiantly)

You can't be serious! Jackie, you and I have chemistry on and off the screen. We should be together; I can't believe you are going around with her. (Pointing at Catherine)

Jackie takes a step forward, her voice filled with frustration.

JACKIE

Tommy, this isn't about you or your feelings. We have been together for the past year; this isn't some fling. I can't believe I have to explain this to you. Catherine and I have something special, and we won't let anyone come between us, not even you.

Catherine stands by Jackie's side, her voice laced with conviction.

CATHERINE

We expect professionalism from you, Tommy. Our personal lives should have no impact on our work. It's time you accept that and set the necessary boundaries.

Tommy's gaze shifts between Jackie and Catherine, his frustration giving way to stubborn resistance.

TOMMY (angrily)

Fine! Have your precious relationship. But don't think I won't be waiting for my chance. Jackie, you'll realize soon enough who you really belong with.

Catherine and Jackie tense up and are filled with rage. They cannot believe the words that are coming out of Tommy's mouth. Who would have believed that this little boy who can't even keep it together at his own publicity even would be able to spew out such ridiculous things?

JACKIE (coolly)

Tommy, I won't entertain your fantasies. Our focus is on our careers and each other. Respect that, or you'll find yourself with far more than a broken heart.

Catherine and Jackie turn to leave Tommy's trailer, as they step out Tommy yells "Good luck Catherine".
