Chapter 1 scene 6
Jackie is waiting in the hallway alone, when she sees the same Professor who was in Hecht's office having a hard time getting into her room. The Prof. had too many book is her hand and could open the door. She saw few student pass by, but none of them helped. So Jackie decided to go and help the Pretty Prof. herself.
Jackie: (walks towards Prof. Stark) Here let me help you with those.
Prof. Stark: (Trying very hard not to drop the books) Thanks.
S*Thank God someone in this damn school has some manners to help.
Prof. Stark: (While putting her stuff on her desk) It is funny how these people can afford tuition but not manners.
Jackie: (Trying to figure out what that big box is on the library shelf) So I've noticed.
Is this a projector, or a camera?
Prof. Stark: (not paying attention to Jackie, she heard her say something) what? Sorry?
Jackie: (Turns towards Prof. Stark) This.
Prof. Stark: (Leans back on her desk) Oh ah neither. It's an ECT machine. Circa 1940. (goes back to writing in her calendar)
Jackie: So its like a prop?
Prof. Stark: (looks back up, confused shaking her head) No, it's the real thing.
Jackie: (excited) Cool! Where di you get it.
*S This would be a great time to play some mind games with her. See how she acts to the Stark charm.
Prof. Stark: (with a very serious face) I stole it.
(Jackie turns around and looks at Prof. Stark with a surprised and confused face.)
Jackie: ECT, Huh? Is it for recording something?
Prof. Stark: (puts away her calendar and looks at Jackie) No, it's for shocking people.
(Jackie pulls her hand away quickly from the machine)
Prof. Stark: Electroconvulsive therapy.
Jackie: (turns and faces stark with a confused reaction) Why would you do that?
Prof. Stark: It is a form of treatment.
Jackie: Does this one work?
(Stark gets up from her desk and moves next to Jackie slowly)
Prof. Stark: I don't know... I haven't used it in a while.
(Jackie starts to back up step by step not knowing what to say or think.)
Jackie: (Scared Jackie cant wait to get out of the room) Ok, I gotta go to class now.
Prof. Stark: (shaking her head with a devilish grin on her face) Have fun.
Jackie: Ok.
(Stark stands in her place while shaking her head)
