I walked across the hall where an older student was waiting for me. She showed me the way to my dorm.
Student: (Opens the door for Jackie, and helps her bring her suitcase in the room) All right, here's your room. You have plenty of closet space, so that is nice.
(Points at the phone, which is on the drawer) Also, when you set up the phone if you have any problems with it just let me know, cause it can be kind of tricky sometimes.
Looks like you've got your own bathroom. That's kinda special. Here is your key.
Jackie: (Smiles softly. Feeling a little guilty for being famous) Thanks
J* This is partly why I didn't want to go to school in Cali. Everyone thinks just because you are famous, you cant do anything right.
Student: You know, it is really rare for a freshman to get a single around here.
Jackie: Yeah, that's what I've heard.
Student: Actually, it's really hard for anyone to get one.
J* The way she talked to me. It was as if she was mocking me. Its not my fault people like to treat me differently.
