Scene 40
Next morning Jackie and Catherine decide to tell Wade the real story before things get messier with the movie.
Jackie and Catherine are on their way to Wades hotel room.
Jackie: [knocks on the door]
Wade: Who is it?
Jackie: Its me, Jackie.
Wade: Come on in Jacks.
(Jackie and Catherine walk in the room, and close the door behind them.)
Wade: Oh hey Catherine.
Catherine: Hi Wade. (smiles softly)
Wade: So... did you guys need something?
Jackie: (looks at Catherine) We actually wanted to talk to you about something.
Wade: Well it's a good thin you came by cause I need to discuss something with you too.
Jackie: really? What?
Wade: Nothing you can't handle. But you go first.
Jackie: Okay, we should sit down for this.
Wade: What did you do Jackie?
Jackie: Nothing, there is just something you need to know before all of this gets in the way.
Catherine: (walks over to Jackie, sits next to her and grabs her hand)
Jackie: Wade... Catherine is not my friend from College. Well she is but, she is more than my friend. She is my girlfriend. (smiles at Catherine)
Wade: (stands up) what do you mean she is your girlfriend?
Catherine: Jackie and I are seeing each other. We have been ever since she came to Indiana.
Jackie: Wade, I know this is a lot to take in, but we wanted to let you know before we came out to the public.
Wade: Look Jackie, I have no problem with your love life. But the public will. Your publicist wants you an Tommy to show the fans that you are a couple. The perfect couple on and off screen.
Jackie: What?! What do you mean? Does Tommy know?
Catherine: (turns to Jackie, with a surprised yet understanding expression)
Jackie: oh Catherine I'm soo sorry. I didn't want you to get caught in all the mess.
Catherine: (grabs Jackie's hand) Hey... its okay. I want to be here with you. If that means keeping us private for a while then that is what we will do.
Jackie: Are you sure? This is going to be hard. It I not easy living the life you want when everyone is expecting you to impress someone.
Catherine: I'm sure. (turns to Wade) I am okay with whatever Jackie and Tommy have to do for the movie in public, but I want you to make sure Tommy understands that there is nothing more to it.
Wade: I respect that. Ill make sure he knows its all a show for the fans.
Jackie/Catherine: Thank you. (they walk out of the room)
Chapter 41
Jackie and Catherine spent the night watching movies, and eating popcorn. They decided to sleep early since they will have a long day tomorrow preparing for the red carpet then the party afterwards to celebrate the movie, and Tommy's birthday.
Jackie: (turns off the TV)
Catherine: (get up to walk to her room when Jackie calls her name)
Jackie: Catherine.
(Catherine turns around)
Catherine: Yeah?
Jackie: Sleep here tonight?
Catherine: Are you sure? Jenny will be here early to do your hair and makeup.
Jackie: I'm sure. I just don't want to sleep alone again.
Catherine: Ok. Let me go change. (kisses Jackie on the forehead)
Jackie: (goes to the bathroom to brush her teeth, and change for bed)
Catherine: (Changes her clothes, and sits on the bed waiting for Jackie's return.)
Jackie: (Comes out of the bathroom) Are you ready?
Catherine: (Gets up and moves to the right side of the bed) Oh more than you know. (Pulls the covers back)
