CHAPTER EIGHTEEN, party favors & secrets.

BRIELLE,

I was tired, but I wasn't able to sleep. My eyes rested for a little over two hours, before I got out of the bed this morning. I put my make up on, attempting to cover up my dark under eyes.

I was sitting on the couch, sinking myself into it. I had my hand resting in the palm of my hand with my eyes closed. I heard background noise, but I didn't bother to wake myself fully up. I felt the couch behind me sink.

"You okay?"

I opened my eyes, looking over my shoulder. Danny was there, leaning against it. Danny giggled as I stared at him hovering over me.

Danny's hand touched my forehead, then he began to feel the side of my neck. "What's wrong?"

"Nothings wrong, I'm not sick," I took his hand off of my face. "I'm just tired."

"You sure?"

"Yes."

Danny reached down to me, hugging me around my neck. Suddenly, Danny reached down all the way, picking my body off from the couch. I gasped, as he flipped me upside down over his shoulder. He turned me the other way, so my legs began to dangle along his back.

"What's are you doing?!" I squealed.

"I don't want your ass pointing out towards everyone." he laughed.

My body dangled over his shoulder while he held me with one arm around my back. He began to walked outside, carefully carrying me out the door with him into the garage. I couldn't see anything that was going on. My face was facing his lower stomach the whole time.

"Throw me that football!" He shouted out.

I felt Danny jerk as I heard him catch the football with his free hand. He threw it back, and began to softly jog.

"Oh my goodness!" I squealed.

Danny slightly jumped up, catching the ball again. "Do you think I can ride a skateboard while holding onto you?"

"No," I begged him, "don't, please!"

Before Danny put me down, he posed as I heard a camera go off. Danny laughed and began to carefully and slowly put me back down. "I could feel her heartbeat increase every time I did something... your turn!"

Danny pretending to pick Cameron up, while he pushed Danny away. I pulled my hoodie down, rolling my eyes at Danny.

"I'm sorry," Danny smiled at me, "was I able to wake you up?"

"Whatever."

Danny grabbed my arm, pulling me into a hug. He gripped onto me tightly, lifting me off the ground.

Kewon and I laughed together, while I leaned my back against the driver door in the car. He was standing out the car with the door wide open, turning around looking at the camera on my phone. He tried to get in, but then I pressed on the gas a little, causing him to try to run up to it.

"I hate you, bro," he laughed while shaking his head, "I hate you."

"Get in!"

When he finally got in the car, he threw the bags into the beat seat. Kewon and I went to Walmart to go get some things for Danny's birthday party that was coming up this weekend. We asked Danny if we could take his car.

"Do you think we got everything?" I asked him as my eyes scanned over the receipt.

"Shit, I hope so!" Kewon sighed, "there's gonna be hella fucking people there, I know that."

I had spent a good amount of money for everything. Danny's mom and I had talked about his party, she told Danny not to worry about any essentials. I pulled out from the parking lot, driving my way back to Danny's house. Kewon was showing me the way back to the house.

"Do you know what you're getting him?" Kewon asked me.

"Fuck," I sighed, "no, I still don't know what I'm gonna get him. He already has every fucking thing you could think about."

"That's true. He doesn't really care for any gifts and shit... so it's hard to think of something for him."

"If anything, I'll wait til we go back to LA. I doubt I'll be able to do any shopping for him here," I groaned to myself. "I did find someone to make a birthday poster for him, though. I have to pick it up the day of his party. I spent almost four-hundred on it."

"Four-what?!"

"It's a big ass poster, it's customized. That's why. It's—"

Kewon quickly interrupted me, pointing his finger to the right, "the turn, you turn right here!"

"Shit!" Without breaking, I quickly made the turn.

Kewon's hand gripped onto the armrest in the middle of us, snapping his head at me, "damn!"

"I'm sorry! Why didn't you say something earlier!"

Kewon suddenly became silent. I glanced at him, seeing him holding onto the handle above him. I laughed to myself, jerking the car left to right as I playfully screamed. When I turned the wheel back to straight, I began to hysterically laugh at Kewon. I pulled up onto the driveway, parking the car. We both got out of the car, grabbing the bags in the back seat.

Kewon and I never failed to have a good laugh together, he was the second person I was closest with besides Danny

He laughed with me, "you play around too damn much! I can tell your Danny's girl!"

"Girl?" I dragged the word out, "where did you hear that?"

"I said what I said!" He snapped at me, "I refuse to hear your excuses as well."

"As well?"

"You're asking too much questions now."

We placed the bags into an empty box, covering it with another one over it. We then began to head into the house.

"What are you even talking about?" I questioned him, but he didn't bother to answer. "Are you hiding something from me?"

"No, what are you talking about now?" Kewon smiled at me, making me feel like he definitely was.

When we walked into the house, Danny was standing around the open area. They all turned their heads at us seeing us with smiles on our faces.

"There they are," Danny pointed at us. "Where's all the stuff y'all got?!"

"In the garage." I said to him as I walked past him to head into my room.
