CHAPTER ELEVEN, beach day.

BRIELLE,

"Bri, do you know how to hit a baseball?" Marsh peaked his head into the house from the front door. "Like, a batter?"

"Yeah, duh." I nodded my head. Roscoe looked over at me, raising an eyebrow.

"Come hit these while I pitch, then." He smiled at me, nudging his head signaling for me to come outside.

I walked outside, grabbing the baseball bat that Kewon handed me. "You want me to go all the way out to the field?"

"Yeah," Marsh nodded, "go far out."

He and I ran out towards the outer field, separating to go on opposite sides. I kept jogging until I heard Marsh tell me to stop. As I turned around, I now saw Danny standing out with them as well. I stood in my stance, getting ready for Marsh to pitch. He pitched the first ball, and I swung the bat... which I had missed.

Marsh pitched another, again, I swung, but it hit the tip of the bat causing it to hit in a certain angle. One more, he pitched another, in which I missed again.

"Bri, you fucking suck!" One of them yelled, and I heard faint laughs coming from them.

"Fuck you!" I shouted back. "I didn't get to warm up!"

Danny then began to run towards me. "Here, let me see." He stuck his hand out for the bat.

I handed him the bat, standing away from him. Marsh pitched, and Danny swung the bat, hitting the ball perfectly and hard. The ball hit the sheds rooftop. He looked back at me while laughing, then began to walk towards me with his arms out.

"Whatever!" I snapped at him, joking along, as I began to walk away from him. "Move!" I said as I tried to move away from him.

"Come here!" He said, "I'll help you hit one!"

I held the bat, standing in the stance once more. Danny stood behind me, putting his hands over mine that were holding the bat. My back was up against his chest, leaving no space between us. Marsh pitched the ball, and the swing was one-hundred percent Danny's. Thankfully, I hit the ball that time.

It was a little past afternoon and we were getting ready to leave for the beach. I put the bags of towels and other beach stuff in the back of the car.

"Beach time!" I heard Danny shout. I looked back to see him driving a golf cart onto the driveway. "Bri, come sit next to me!"

Cameron and Kewon were sitting on the back side of the golf cart. I shook my head, laughing at them. "Don't tell me you're gonna drive that there, Danny."

"Hell yeah!" Danny said.

As soon as I sat down next to him, he began to drive off, with the rest of the guys following behind us in the car. Alex was in the car, filming us from the window. Danny began to drive the cart crazy, even though it didn't go that fast. He drove the cart off of the road, onto the grass, which had a little downhill. The cart tilted a little, but not enough for us to fall over. It was all bumpy, causing the three of us to hold on tightly to the cart. I took my phone out and began to record.

"Damn!" Kewon said.

He drove the cart past small trees that were short enough to hit me on my body. I moved my face away, using my arms to block the branches away.

"Ah!" I shook my head.

All Danny did was laugh, driving back onto the road. A speed bump was coming up, and Danny didn't even dare to slow down a bit. My left arm quickly grabbed onto Danny's arm, holding tight as we went over the bump. When we got to main road, he began driving the cart like it was an actual car. I kept my arm wrapped around Danny's, holding onto him for security.
