CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX, date day.

BRIELLE,

Danny and I's first stop was at a go-kart racing place. I was excited as soon as I realized where we were at. He and I walked together, hand in hand, through the parking lot up to the doors. I pulled the door open, as he held it from above to allow me to walk in.

"You're gonna get your ass kicked." I told him, walking up the front desk.

Danny laughed at me like I just told a joke while he looked at me with a content look. As we were paying and looking at prices, Danny leaned over the desk. "Yo, how much is damage costs if we accidentally fuck up the kart?"

"No," I immediately interrupted him, "we are not damaging anything." I told the guy.

The guy laughed, "a lot. Make sure you don't."

"That's fine, my daddy owns this place. I won't have to pay for anything."

I quickly laughed, "oh my goodness don't listen to him. He's just kidding."

We began to walk away, putting out wristbands on. "People don't take me seriously!" Danny exclaimed, "damnit."

"That's because you're always full of shit! One day someone is seriously going to argue with you."

"Like I haven't done that before?" Danny sarcastically replied back.

We looked at the times on the screen, waiting for the next new lap to start so we can get on it. Danny and I watched the current race going on, he was being very attentive to it. I could tell he was about to get very competitive.

The new round started, Danny and I being one of the first people to get a kart. Danny chose the one that was a few carts behind me, saying that he'd give me 'a head start'. They began to go over rules, some tips, and more just before we started. Of course they were big on safety, no purposely hitting and so on... I already know it was going to happen.

Right as soon as it started, everyone began flying off around the track. I pushed on it as hard as I can, slowing breaking as I made turns. I kept my distance, having a quick reaction time whenever I passed someone. I took a quick glance back, seeing Danny already catching up to me.

I heard him faintly laughing as I felt him lightly tap the back of my kart. He did it harder again, and I moved aside so he'd stop hitting me. He was about to pass me, until we made a turn, allowing me to get more ahead of him once again.

Someone eventually accidentally bumping into me, causing me swerve a little a slow. The guy looked over at me, "sorry!" He shouted, as we both decreased our speeds.

"You're good!" I shouted back, then continued on.

Once the karts began to slow down, the workers led us back to line the karts up. I took my helmet off, placing it back on the shelf, walking over tot the screen to check my timing. Danny walked up behind me, making a 'pfft' noise.

"What did I tell you?" I playfully poked his chest.

"Nah, I gave you a head start. Doesn't count... do you think we're able to do one-on-ones?"

I rolled my eyes, "you just can't take the heat, boy!" I teased him.

Danny flung his wrist at me, "I just wasn't focused enough, I wasn't too busy on winning."

"Lies!"

I took my phone out, taking a picture of the screen. Danny pursed his lips together, playfully pinching my side and tickling me. I grabbed his arm, laughing at him. Danny walked over to the worker, asking if it was possible to do one-on-ones. They led us to a different track, where we were able to do it.

"Now you're gonna get your ass beat, trust." Danny pointed at me, as we put our helmets on.

I took another picture, this time of us with our helmets on. I stuffed my phone back into my purse, putting it in a safe cubby before we walked onto the track to the two karts. I sat down on the left side, as Danny took the right side.

This time, we both took off at the same time, both of us catching almost the same speed. He turned his wheel to the left, bumping the front of my kart. I gasped, moving away as I could see his amused expression through this helmet.

Danny began to pass me a little, now me falling behind. I saw him raise his arm, flipping me off, causing me to snicker. "Fuck you, too!" I said while laughing.

We focused on the track path, me just right behind him the whole time. After two laps, I began to catch up once again. I did what he did to me, purposely tapping the side of his kart. He did it back to me again, causing us to finally collide into the walls, causing our karts to stop.

"Look what you did!" Danny joked, laughing.

"Nuh-uh!" I replied back, pointing at him. "Not me!"

Danny looked back at the worker, "I swear it wasn't me, it was my girlfriend!"

"Hey!" I snapped at him, "definitely him!"

We got out of the way, finally finishing the race. Once we stopped and got out of the kart, we walked to the screen to see our times. Danny was ahead of me just by a little.

"What did I tell you?" He now teased me, "you even tried to cheat!"

I defended myself, acting offended, "you were doing it to me first!"

I was surprised the workers didn't say anything. They probably weren't even paying attention.

We spent almost three hours at the place and we didn't even realize we were there that long. Danny and I walked to the car, while he had his arm around my shoulders. I grabbed his hand that dangled over my right shoulder, intertwining it with mine.

When we got to the car, he opened it for me, like always. I posted the picture of Danny and I in the helmets, which I thought was so cute.

"That was fun," I said to him, "I like being in a competitive place."

"Sometimes you get a little too fucking competitive. You've always been like that. At least you're not a sore loser."

"Where to next?"

"You can pick if you'd like," Danny offered. "Anywhere."

"...can we go to Sephora?" I asked him, slightly cheesing.

Danny gave me a genuinely confused face, "the fuck is that?"

"The makeup store!"

"Oh, I've heard that one before. That's what it's called... yeah, of course. Let me put it in Google maps, I don't know where that is."

Excited, I put my seatbelt on, waiting for him to pull out of the parking stall. There was one nearby not too far, about ten minutes away. It was inside of a mall, which I agreed to go to, just to look around. I don't need to buy anything, but I know how I am.

While driving, Danny asked, "we're gonna go eat after this, I just know I'm gonna be hungry."

While in Sephora, Danny just followed me around the whole time. He just went wherever I did, waiting patiently as I looked at the products. He kept asking me questions on what was what, and what it was for. I found it funny, I've never seen him so curious.

Once I got everything I needed, we waiting in line, which wasn't too long. The girl at the counter scanned my things as I took out my card from my wallet. Danny quickly tried to tap his card onto the payment, I grabbed his hand trying to stop him, but he was too fast. I frowned at him, while he gave me a smile.

"Thank you so much, have a good day," I told the girl. "I'm paying you back, just saying." I said to Danny as we walked out.

"Not gonna accept it."

"Well, then your turn. Go look at somewhere. I need to get you a present for your birthday. I didn't even get you anything." I grabbed his arm, holding it close to me.

"Huh? You already got me stuff, I don't need anymore. You even helped with the part itself," Danny refused, "you should look around."

"Yeah, I'll look around for you."
