Logan pov
I wake up by the sun coming in from the curtains and try not to move in case I wake up Delilah. I turn around cautiously, taking my arm off of her just to see it's currently eleven eleven am. Suddenly I feel Delilah shift to the other side facing the wall.
"Morning," she says half asleep
"Good morning," I say and I could feel her smiling
"I'm curious do you still draw," she asks me out of the blue completely ignoring whatever happened, hell, I don't think I understand
"Yes I still do what about you," she shifts so now she's staring at the ceiling and I'm staring at her side. We both got put in art classes when we were younger and I guess between hockey and figure skating we kind of burned out.
"Not really," she says leaving a long pause
"Can I ask you something about your dad," I say and she quickly turns around so she's facing the wall again avoiding me
"What do you want to know," she asks and I rethink again before asking if it was too painful
"Did he stop drinking, is it possible," I ask with hope because yesterday the man I had idolized my whole childhood turned to be a drunk just like me
"Uhmm yes," she says "he started a little bit after the incident and stopped couple of years later," she says and I can't imagine what happened those couple of years
"When did you became so scared of thunder," I ask her in my attempt of changing the topic and she shrugs
"This thunderstorm came to Westview a couple years ago and I was accidentally left out of the house at the front of the door, and he was passed out so he didn't hear me," she says and I hear a sad tone overpowering her voice
"I'm sorry Ro- Delilah," I say stroking my hand on her shoulder gently
"It's fine it's over now," she says and I exhale
"Can I ask you something," she says this time
"Yeah sure," I say thinking she might ask me about Blair or my mom or maybe the fact that I told her I couldn't stop thinking about her
"Why do you hate Silas," she says catching me off guard
"What do you mean," I ask her absolutely knowing what she's talking about
"You told me he didn't deserve and shit like that," she says and I mentally face palm myself like why do I make my life harder
"Oh yeah," I say falling into silence trying to explain her
"So,"
"I don think it's my story to tell," I say sincerely and also I don't want to tell her
"Please," she says and I give in and I worried that if she ever asked me anything again I would do it in a heartbeat not matter what
"Okay well when we were freshmen well we both tried out for hockey varsity and when we both got in there were only three freshmen Gray him and I so we became really close friends to the point we were roommates and had almost every class together anyways he started partying and we were best friends until I saw him put something in a girls drink," I say pausing before I continue the story "The spiking happened when we were late sophomores so my drinking problems were developing and when I took the drink off the girls hands and confronted him he said something about why would he listen to an alcoholic," I say and I could see by the corner of my eye she had turned to face me
"I didn't know," she says looking at my side profile
"I just wanted to protect you," I say shyly as I feel my cheeks blush
