Leonora POV

I stand there watching as Nikolai storms out of the room, his shoulders slumped in defeat. I lean back against the bed, looking at the older giant approaching me, a faint soft glint of something in his eyes.

"I realized I didn't adequately introduce myself. My name is Viktor dear, Nikolai's father. Doctor Verenich only needs to fix your leg, and it will be over, I swear." Viktor remarks, providing me some solace with a little grin. I nod tiredly, my head pressed against the soft cloud of the bed. Doctor Verenich approaches me, clutching something that I assume would help to repair my leg.

Viktor, Nikolai's father, approaches me and takes both of my hands in his, anchoring me to this moment. I grimace slightly when I feel Doctor Verenich's hands against my leg, the pain radiating down into my ankle, as I grasp Viktor's hand letting out a cry. Viktor let's out a few comforting words but they don't seem to help.

Where's Giant?

"Ok I'm ready. Leonora take a deep breathe in for me okay?" Doctor Verenich says his hands grasping my leg tightly on either side, as he keeps it in place. I nod trying to calm myself before taking a large deep breath.

As I hear a crack, the greatest pain I've ever felt travels down my leg. I scream, tears streaming down my cheeks, as Viktor's palm reaches up to wipe them away gently, his fingers tightly grasping mine. My leg being twisted and pulled in ways that cause little black dots to appear in my vision.

"It's done. It's done. Well done Leonora you did so well." Doctor Verenich replies slipping the thing I saw earlier on my leg, making it impossible to move the lower half of it.

I close my eyes tiredly, but quickly snap them open again in fright when I feel a hand stroking my hair away from my face, my gaze meeting Ivan and Micah, both of whom are giving me proud smiles.

I try to keep my eyes open as they exchange words with one another, but I can't seem to recognise the words. My eyes begin to slowly close, darkness now completely taking over my vision as I let it wash me away.

***

"Leonora. Bambina, come back here." (translation: baby) As his footsteps approach me, a deep voice laughs. I shriek and rush away, hiding behind a giant tree, my hands pressed to my chest to ensure he doesn't see me. The fresh grass between my toes was somewhat ticklish.

I peer out from behind the enormous tree to see if I can spot anyone, but they have vanished. Looking around, I notice a shadow on the opposite end of the field and giggle quietly before slipping back behind the tree. Kneeling down to make my body even smaller.
