Nikolai POV
I've been looking around multiple stores for over an hour now, and I am no where near close to finding a present for Leonora. Her birthday is in five days and I am not prepared for it. I've already had to deal with her overprotective brothers and father, but why do I have a feeling that her cousins, uncles and aunts are going to be worse.
And not to even mention her grandparents.
I come to a stop running my hands down my face in frustration. What am I going to do?
"You look lost." A female voice says from behind me. I turn around meeting a black haired girl, wearing what seems to be a work uniform. A name tag on her shirt reading 'Natalie.'
"Is it that obvious?" I ask, turning my body towards the the girl I now know as Natalie who has a small smile on her face.
"To be honest... yes. You look like your going through an expediential crisis." She chuckles causing a smile to rise on my face.
"I'm trying to find a birthday present for my girl. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be." I say sighing and picking up a colourful box off of one of the shelves.
"Well if your girlfriend likes collectible tea cup mats then your on a roll." She jokes as I sigh and put down the box I was just looking at.
"Do you want some help?" She asks. I bunch my hands up in frustration at my sides.
"No." I say, looking at the other boxes on the shelves before placing them down again realizing I just picked up the same thing.
"Are you sure?"
Ugh I hate people.
"What does she like to do?" Natalie asks now taking the basket from my arm and holding it in her hand.
I think about what Leonora likes to do before a peaceful more serene smiles comes to my face. Helping to calm to the frustration from being here for what seems like a whole lifetime.
"She likes to draw, oh and photography as well." I say quickly.
"Perfect follow me. Do you have a budget?" Natalie said as she brings me down a few different isles and round a few corners.
"No. No budget." I say. I'll get Leonora the best presents. She's worth more than all the money in the world, and she only deserves the best.
"Lucky girl." Natalie replies handing me multiple different notepads. I don't know which one to get so I just add them all to the basket.
"Don't you think that's a bit much. One art book that you chose for her from the heart is better than buying all of these. That's being overbearing." Natalie said taking out of the notebooks and scanning through them.
