Leonora POV
As I stepped into the park, my senses were immediately heightened by the fresh scent of blooming flowers and the gentle rustling of leaves on the trees. The sun shone down on the lush green grass, inviting me to take a seat and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. The sound of children laughing and playing filled the air, adding to the park's lively energy.
A large pond in the centre of the park glistened in the sunlight, with ducks swimming lazily in its calm waters. I couldn't help but feel a sense of serenity wash over me as I took a deep breath and allowed myself to fully appreciate the beauty of this tranquil oasis in the midst of the bustling city.
"Leonora dear?" Anastasia said, her hand coming into contact with my shoulder as I move my eyes away from all the beautiful colours.
"I'm just going to pop in and get some cupcakes. Do you want to come in or wait out here?" Anastasia said. I look around noticing that there's just us in the park at the moment, but the bakery had people filing in and out. As well as the people sitting outside.
"I-I w-wait." I whisper noticing a cute little bench by the pond which I feel like might be a nice place to seat. My legs are already getting tired, and my ankle is starting to throb.
"Alexei why don't you give some Leonora some company and I'll be back." Anastasia smiled, as she leaves a kiss on Alexei's cheek and walking off towards the bakery, stopping to chat with a few people on the way. I'm guessing she's knows a lot of people here, it is a really small town.
"Come on Nora. Maybe we can feed the duckies." Alexei squeals taking my hand in his. I follow after him towards the bench where I'm guessing the little 'duckies' where as well. Sitting down I let out a sigh of relief with the straining muscles of my legs.
"Lookie." Alexei says taking out a wrapped biscuit from his pocket, before breaking it and handing me half.
"Hold your hand out to them."
I lean forward toward the little duckie things. Some were brown and some of the other duckies had little green heads. They were kind of cute. One of the green one's makes it's way closer before gently taking the biscuit out of my hand and running away, like it thought I might take it away again.
"I think I have witnessed an angel." I manage to make out from someone behind me. I quickly whip my head around to notice four people behind me. The girl that was talking just gives me a smile, her dark skin glowing under the sun. I shrink into the side of the chair, hoping it will swallow me up. Maybe it would have been best to stick with Anastasia.
"And lookie here. It's little Alexei. How have you been little guy we haven't seen you in forever?" The girl next to her laughs, her short dark straight black hair laying just under her chin. Her eye's we're of almond shape and were so pretty.
