Leonora Bernardi locked in the dark. Hurt for most of her life, scared of her own shadow. Not knowing what the outside world is like, she's the epitome of innocence. One look at her and it's like her aura could light up the room.

Nikolai POV
"Nikolai either stop sulking or go do something about it." My mother said, taking a fussy Alexei into her arms his whimpers filling the room.
"I mwiss Nora." Alexei whines, tightening his hold around my mother's neck as his sniffles fill the room. You and me both Alexei. You and me both.
"We all do Alexei. Some more than others. But she's with her family now. She's happy." She continues, her face now turning towards me to give me a pointed glare. That is before she leaves the room, bouncing a crying Alexei.
"Your mother's right Nikolai. You've done nothing but glare for the past few days since she's left, and not only that but you almost killed one of our men." My father said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"He annoyed me." I said plainly, leaning back in my chair. I fiddle with one of Leonora's scrunchies around my wrist, the soft material bringing me some comfort.
"He was returning one of Leonora's hair ties. Which is now around your wrist may I add." My father exclaims, like he can't fathom the fact that I almost killed one of the guards for having Leonora's scrunchie.
****
I'm sitting in my room doing some work as I try to distract myself from the fact that Leonora's not here with me anymore. That's all I've been doing for the past few days, constantly working.
Even Alexei misses her. He's been staying in his room, crying throughout the day about not having Leonora to play or draw with him. Leonora's presence has effected us all. We just didn't realise how much until she was gone.
A knock on the door brings me out of my thoughts as I place my laptop down on my bed, moving over to the door to open it.
"Sir. We have a problem downstairs. One of the security camera's don't seem to be working." One of our men say. I sigh in frustration. That's just what I need right now, a broken camera. I know what my father would say though. That one broken camera could change the situation from stopping the attacker, to becoming the attacked.
Following the man down the corridor I come to a sudden stop seeing one of our men holding Leonora's scrunchie in his hand. What. the. fuck.
Taking rapid steps forward I charge at him before throwing a punch right at his jaw, satisfied when I see him flop to the floor. Getting on top of him, I throw punches after punches seeing red. Shouts echo around me, but that doesn't stop me from beating the shit out of him. Blood now coating his hands.
I stop noticing he's not moving anymore, before taking my jacket off and picking up the scrunchie off the floor not wanting my bloody hands to touch the soft material.
