Leonora POV
It's been a few days since I've moved to Italy. As much as I try to hate them for separating me and Nikolai, I don't have the heart to do it. I mean sure I miss Nikolai. A lot. But they're my family, and I love them. They've been so nice and loving, they haven't let me out of their sight since I've been here.
They're always making sure I'm ok, asking if I need anything. Buying me things that I have no use for. Watching some of my favourite new movies I've found, even though most of them fall asleep within the first five minutes.
I'm currently sitting on the board walk of our house, my legs dangling over the side into the crystal clear blue water. I've always like the ocean. How pretty it is. How we've been exploring the ocean for years, and yet haven't even explored half of it yet. Who knows what's out there.
Looking out into the distance I keep my eyes on the ocean. Nikolai's out there someday. He promised we'd meet again. He promised.
My smile drops from my face as I fiddle with my fingers, looking out into the distance. I move my hand up to touch the necklace around my neck, Nikolai's ring dangling off the end. I trace my fingers over the intricate metal design, revelling in the feeling of having something of Nikolai's close to me.
But he's not close enough.
"Leonora? You want something to eat?" Remo asks, coming round the corner holding what looks to be plates and plates of different Italian food. That's one good thing here. One very good thing. My family know how to cook. And I mean cook.
I nod, quickly reaching for what I now know as pizza which Remo places down next to me. I moan at the deliciousness that just hit my tongue. Pizza might be my new favourite food, other than cake.
"What are you doing out here principessa? You've been out here for hours now." (translation: princess) Remo said, taking his own slice of pizza as we both stare off into the distance.
"I-im j-just thinking." I say flicking the water up into the air a little bit, watching is sparkle in the light.
"About what?" Remo said finishing off the rest of the pizza on the plate.
"E-everything."
I hear him sigh before moving the plate and shuffling closer to me.
"You really like him huh?" He asked. I meet his eyes nodding slightly as I feel my chest tighten. Remo's arm comes up to rest around me, my head falling onto his shoulder.
"It's for the best Leonora. Father knows what he's doing." He said, his hand continuing to run down my arm in a comforting manner.
"B-but how does h-he k-know what's g-good for m-me?" I ask, looking back out at the water.
