I thought he didn't hear me, dahil hindi niya ko nilingon. I called him again for the second time.

"Verzine!"

He slowly turn his head towards my direction, kunot ang noo nito nang lumapit sakin. He then slowly walk towards me with cold stare.

"Ms... Don't call me Verzine. I prefer Draze."

His words caught me off guard. I found myself nodding because he's so intimidating, and before I knew it, he's already miles away from me.

Tulala akong bumalik sa dorm ko. Hindi nako nagabalang habulin pa siya kanina, I was too stunned to do that. He called me Ms... It means he didn't recognize me. I don't know what's wrong with him, hindi ganito ang inaasahan ko, sa una naming pagkikita matapos ng maraming taon. Is he pretending that he doesn't know me..? But I can't find a reason for him to do that though.

I dialed Sunshine's number. Gusto kong itanong sa kanya  kung naaksidente ba si Verzine noon, because he doesn't seems to recognize me. I'll ask her for some information. After a few ring, she finally answered.

"Hello Sunshine are you busy?"

"A bit. Why?"

She answered in a soft voice.

Kumunot ang noo ko because of the softness of her voice, I mean... It's not her usual tone. I wonder if she's feeling well.

"Are you okay...?"

I asked worriedly. She cleared her throat before she answer.

"I'm fine. Why did you call?"

"I just need some information Shine. I met Verzine earlier, and it seems like he didn't recognize me at all."

Sagot ko habang inaayos ang kama ko, bago humiga.

"I think it's because of his accident before, meron siyang Amnesia."

Napabangon ako dahil sa sinabi niya.

"Accident, Amnesia... What do you mean?"

Aligagang tanong ko. Sunshine heavy sigh on the other line.

"You didn't read the second page of the email, I sent you didn't you..?"

Damn! May second page pa pala yun. Hindi ko siguro napansin, dahil mas natuon ang pansin ko sa status ni Verzine! Him being single distracted me!

"Read it Hail, I'll hang up now bye."

I hurriedly check the email after the call. Indeed, meron ngang second page! I silently read it. It says here that he got into car accident 4 years ago, and was in coma for 2 months. I guess he's not pretending, he didn't really recognize me.

I was busy reading the email, when my phone ring. Mama Matilda is video calling me. I quickly answered it.

"I miss you Mama!"

My heart felt warm, when I heard that from my daughter. Mukha niya ang bumungad sa cellphone ni Mama Matilda. I heard Mom's laugh in the background, napangiti ako.

"I miss you too baby!"

I respond with the same energy.

"When are you coming home Mama! And where's Papa can I see him!"

I tried so hard to keep smiling after hearing that
from my daughter, while I think of some excuses to tell her.

"It will take a while for us to go home baby. Your Papa still have... Some unfinished business and work here, but we will go home as soon as he finish it!"
