There was so much work to do. Prom was in two days and as the person in charge, I had to make sure everything was in order.
I was choosing flowers when I felt someone hug me from behind.
"Hey, did you miss me?" It was a manly voice and I knew who it was.
"Levi, you're late," I said and hugged him.
So Levi and I are officially a couple. When he was done with his finals and he graduated, he reached out to me. We got talking and went on a few dates and now we're a couple.
He's so sweet and caring. When he kisses me, I feel like the only one in the world.
I just wanted to marry him so that he'd be mine forever.
"Yeah, sorry about that. I was busy with something"
"Now that you're here, help out"
"I will, but first I need to show you something"
"What is it?"
"It's a surprise, follow me" We interlocked fingers and he covered my eyes.
___
"Are we there yet?"
"Almost there"
"What is it? Tell me"
"Babe, it's a surprise"
I wondered what surprise he had for me.
"And... we are here" he removed the blindfold from my eyes.
Oh my God, it was beautiful. He had cleaned up the old gazebo behind the school.
"Welcome madam and sir" Tasha said in the most ridiculous French accent. I laughed so hard.
She and Bev started to throw rose petals at me.
"What do you think?"
"It's beautiful," I said and gasped one more time.
When I turned to look back at him, he was down on one knee.
In his hands were a bouquet and a beautiful pendant.
"Ashley, will you go to prom with me?" Finally, I thought he'd never ask.
"Yes...yes...yes...yesss," I said. Tasha was jumping with excitement.
"May I?" he asked
Levi shifted my hair to one side and put the pendant necklace on my neck.
After he was done, he lifted me and spun me around. It was like a movie. I couldn't believe everything was finally falling into place.
Tasha came and hugged me.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked her
"Babes, do you not know what a surprise is?" I just rolled my eyes at her and hugged her again.
___
"See you later?" Levi asked
"Yeah"
After he left, I ran into one of the teachers.
"Miss Lexington, I hope you are good. That's a very beautiful pendant"
"Thanks. Am good"
Her expression changed and I felt something was wrong.
"Unfortunately, your grades are not good. You are an excellent student so am gonna give you some advice. Focus on your studies and get your game on. You failed the test and now you failed the exam. I don't know what is distracting you, but you have to keep your personal life and your school life in check. Have a wonderful day"
"Yes Mrs.Leah, thanks"
I sighed.
I've been thinking of Levi a lot lately and I don't have time for my studies anymore. If Mom and Dad find out am flopping my classes, they're gonna be so pissed. I tried to balance my personal life and my school life. Where did I go wrong?
Hey guys, hope you like it. Thanks to my readers for coming this far and giving my book a chance. Please vote and comment on the flaws, it's really important. Love y'all
