"You agreed just like that?" Tash asked. Her tone wasn't pleasant.
"Girl, you told me that it's a great opportunity for me and it pays well," I said.
"Well, yeah, but I didn't think you would be moving in with a stranger. How will we meet up now?" She had a point tho.
"Everything happened so fast, Tash" I exhaled deeply.
"You're gonna be okay. If there's anything wrong, just call me okay" She placed her hand on mine and gave me her "I know you can overcome anything" look.
We continued packing because Alfred would pick me up soon.
"Have you spoken to Aiden about this?"
"No... we haven't spoken after the other night"
"He needs to know that his woman is gonna be living with another man for professional reasons. Call him up and talk about things. Aiden's a good guy, Ash. Don't lose him"
I nodded.
She knew I didn't love him, but she wanted me to just give him a chance.
And I was gonna try.
"So, you've got a hot ride, Ash"
I went to where she stood and peeped out the window. She was right. I guess whoever Alfred called "boss" was a freaking millionaire.
"Tash, we've also got money. We are famous too" I said.
"Yeah, I know, but you never let us spend it or show off"
"We need to--"
"Save money for the future" she continued it. I often say it so she's used to it.
I laughed at how silly she was being.
"I gotta go now" I held both her hands.
"Call me when you get there. I'll call you every day and you have to pick up every single call. Promise me"
"I promise. I'll be back for Mom's birthday"
"Okay, call Aiden too."
"I will"
We hugged so tightly. She didn't wanna let go.
"Let go, silly." I laughed.
"I don't wanna" she whined.
"C'mon Tash, I gotta go. I promise to Facetime you tonight. pinky swear"
"Okay, fine. I love you. take care" She finally let me go.
"Love you too, byee" I gave her a peg and left.
Alfred took my bags. Tash wasn't kidding.
This car was hot.
"Sorry for taking so long," I said to Alfred.
"No worries, Miss Ashley." He said. He still had that creepy smile.

I guess I have to get used to it.

We got to this huge penthouse and it was so beautiful.
"Mr.Smith isn't home. He's still at the office so just freshen up" Alfred said.
Oh. Mr.Smith, so that was the name.
Alfred showed me to my room and it reminded me of mine. I already missed Tash.
We would have been watching movies and having so much fun by now, Huh.
"Oh and Miss Ashley, feel at home" He added.
"Please, call me Ashley," I said. Talking to someone formally wasn't my thing.
He nodded and left the room.
I unpacked my stuff and got settled. Then I went to shower.
