Annie and Daniel stood in the courthouse side by side.

They didn't have the family or friends in this state to have a real wedding. But they were just as happy with this.

They signed their paperwork and were gifted the titles husband and wife.

Annie walked out of the courthouse with a smile, a bouquet in one hand, and her husband's hand in the other.
She squealed and wrapped her arms around his neck for a hug as he chuckled and wrapped his arms around her waist.
The two spun in glee and shared a kiss before letting each other go.

"My husband..." Annie smiled.
"Mrs. Ross." Daniel smiled back.
She gasped happily. "Mrs. Ross..."
He laughed fondly at her joy about it.

"I've waited for that name for years." Annie admitted.
"I'm sorry it took so long."
"Oh, that's alright. Better late than never isn't it?" They headed down the steps of the courthouse towards Daniel's truck.
"Now there's only one last thing to do." he said and opened her door for her.
"And what's that?" she got in.
He made sure she was in all the way before shutting her door and walking around.

He opened his side and got in. "Having babies." He smiled and started the truck.
Annie laughed. "Right now?!"
"Soon." he answered.
"I've always dreamed of bein' a mama."
Daniel drove off. "Married now. We can make that dream a reality."
"I think you're just tryin' to get me into bed." Annie sassed.
"I've had you in my bed long before now."
Annie gasped.
"But I definitely wouldn't turn down the opportunity to have it again."
"I bet you wouldn't."

Daniel took her hand in his while he drove.
"Annie Denise Ross. My wife and the mother of my future child." he stated proudly.
Annie looked back at him.
"Feels good to say." he stated.
She smiled.

He rolled down his window and held his arm and face outside of it.
Annie watched curiously.
"I JUST GOT MARRIED!" he shouted out of it and received stares from pedestrians. "TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN ON THE PLANET!"
Annie laughed fondly.
"SHE'S GONNA HAVE MY BABY!"
"Daniel!" Annie yelled and smacked his arm.
He pulled himself back fully into the truck.

"Do you ever think about what the people back home would say if they saw us now?" Annie wondered.
Daniel took a deep breath. "No."
"Really?"
"I don't care about what they have to say. It would probably be somethin' terrible anyway. Their opinions don't matter to me."

He remembered all of his former friends from back home.
Scotty would probably tell the whole town in an attempt to get them to hate Daniel and be disgusted by him. Paul wouldn't care much. He'd just stare wide eyed once Daniel brought Annie around. And he probably wouldn't talk to her. But he didn't think Paul would do any real harm.
If his mother found out she'd throw a fit. Scream and cry until she couldn't breathe and say it was Daniel trying to get revenge on her or something along those lines. Asking her son why he hated her so much.
The only opinions that mattered to him, he'd already got their blessing.

"Everybody that matters to me already gave me their opinions and it was good." Daniel stated.
Annie nodded and looked back through the windshield as they rode.

"I'll have to pack soon." Annie stated.
"For what?"
"It's almost time to visit my daddy."
Daniel sighed. "Annie, I told you about goin' on that long trip by yourself and you keep waitin' until it's too close for me to get days off."
"I'll be fine, Daniel. I promise."
He sighed. "Well I don't like it."
"You don't like me visitin' my daddy?"
"You know that ain't the problem. I don't like you doin' it alone. Next time you tell me ahead of time and I go with you. You hear me?"
"Yea, I hear you."
"Good. Just married, I ain't losin' you yet."
"You weren't gonna lose me. I'm as safe as can be on that trip." she argued sweetly.
"You ain't as safe as can be unless I'm there with you."
She snickered. "I'll tell you about my plans the next time. Early enough for you to take a couple of days off."
"That's all I needed to hear."
The two stared at the road as they continued the drive home.
