It's been a week since the events that transpired in the gym with Miles and Kori. To Kori's benefit, Miles did a lot of skipping class this week. If he didn't completely skip, then he was incredibly late.

As expected, Miles' greed led him into the decision to go through with partnering with the Sinister Six. Because their cartel is spread across all of New York openly, Miles has had moments where his clients sent him on a mission during the day. It's messing with his chances to come up with realistic lies about his whereabouts. In his perspective, Miles doesn't care about the increase in danger. His income will show in due time.

Kori on the other hand has been dedicated to learning the choreography and performing it in the gym after school. She had for sure snatched the attention of the current members and coach of the team. This rubs Gwen the wrong way, so she talks shit to most girls in the gym about Kori. Problem is, it backfired and gave her more attention than was needed. Kori was rumored to be the most outstanding dancer among the school.

The level of nosiness at the school did not cross Kori's mind. She was more focused on her safety. Kori remembered the eerie feeling Saturday night as she played her game. She had taken off her headphones to make sure no one was outside, but when she turned back to her game, she saw a figure fly past her window. Kori saw nothing but purple travel across buildings. Since she's been in New York, her mom has worried about her safety at night. Kori made sure doors and windows were locked, and that she was inside by a certain time. This fear led her into tuning into the news.

Kori learned that the purple figure she saw the other night was known as the Prowler. The figure is a professional thief that excels in cat burglary. She saw on the news that the entity recently paired themselves with the Sinister Six. Times in New York have become rough, but Kori understood that she was only here to get an education.

Korinna's POV

"Are you ready to see the results?" Aria and Jaya dragged me towards the cafeteria to look at the new dance team roster. I haven't even zipped up my bag completely. They told me that they don't even know if they are on it either. During tryouts, the coach mentioned that a current girls' spot could be taken.

"Hey, I don't know If I want to look at it now," I trailed off. Jaya turns around stunned, "Why not?! We have to look at it sooner or later." I quickly responded. "I don't want the whole school to see my reaction if I fail." Aria puts her arm around my shoulder, "that's the last thing that will happen and you know that. But, I'll respect your wishes. How about we sit and eat for a minute. Once the crowd clears, then we go check for ourselves."

I've become closer to Aria and Jaya over the past 3 weeks. They've been understanding and respectful of my boundaries. It's hard to find people out here that will. We sat down and began our usual banter. I caught a couple of people looking at me after walking off from the roster list. Breathe, Kori, breathe. This has been going on the entire lunch.
