Korinna's POV
Miles (AM) and I have been hopping across the multiverse finding allies. Most people agreed to meet on the battlefield, others opposed us. We were lucky to get away Scot-free without Miguel showing up. Even though we were doing our part, I felt like something was on his mind. Ever since Miles-17217, we've been traveling nonstop. I could tell he was taking something off his mind.
We're currently on earth-616 sitting on a high-rise building looking at the city lights. It's 8pm and it's dark outside. A few of our allies recommended this earth as our last stop. Turning to Miles (AM) I went ahead and spoke up about his behavior. "What's wrong? Ever since we left earth-17217, you've been off. You seem disconnected."
He bit his lip with concentration and looked off in the distance. "I was excited to find out the multiverse existed. Let alone the ability to travel across worlds. It's just that..." He shook his head and ran his hand down his face. I scooted closer to him. I could feel his anxiousness.
"We're the main character in our stories. Or at least I thought that way until I met other spider people, met Miles (PM), and even other versions of myself in alternate universes. I've started thinking about how I might not be meant for this Spiderman shit. In every other universe, Miles was meant to be Spiderman. My spider bite was an accident. I took away Miles (PM)'s chance to be what he was destined for." He explained emotionally. My heart sank for him. I didn't realize he carried this thought all day.
"Miles (AM), that's not true. You've been a great Spiderman. Miles (PM) is just fine without the powers. He is still fighting just as much as you are. If you think you were meant to be the Prowler, know that that doesn't make you a villain. You'd probably still be Danger. Actually I know." I tried my best to comfort him. I didn't exactly know what to say. All I can do is sympathize, especially since I don't have powers.
"Then why am I from earth-1610B? A letter? It's like I was a side character the whole time." Miles got to the root of why he felt the way he did.
"Side character? I'm sure there is a better numbering system we don't understand as to why your universe has a B. There are ways to find out why. Does it matter? You're not a side character. You're Spiderman who's traveling the multiverse. Spiderman who is going against a whole spider society. You're risking your whole universe to save your dad. That sounds like a main character to me!" I could tell my words were cheering him up. I laid my head on his shoulder.
"Look at my experience. I'm typically in the background rooting for Miles even if it hurts. Korinna accepted her position as an aunt instead of confessing her love, she was slaughtered in two different stories to protect Miles' heart, she sits in the lab and works on his Spiderman tech, or in your case, she sat back and watched you chase after your girl crush. Not me. I get to be Black Cat." I could feel Miles (AM) wrap his arm around me. We laid back and looked up at the sky.
