Korinna's POV
I must have truly hurt Miles' feelings, because he didn't show up to class for the past two days. Honestly, I was contemplating on whether or not to go through with this date, but I'm certain. I'm going. Judge and I plan on going to the skating rink today at 5pm. I was currently in AP physics sitting alone since Ms. Calleros asked us to pair with our partner to work on the science fair project.
I sat and read a book until class was over. I got a tap on my shoulder and looked up. I saw Ganke asking for permission to sit next to me. "Yea, sure right here is fine," I told Ganke. He's never really talked to me before, but I see him with Miles a lot. "Hey I know it's not my business to get involved, but I just wanted to tell you to be careful on your date with Judge. I'm his roommate, and I'm still unclear of his intentions. I do know that Miles cares for you even if he's too prideful to say so. He's not all bad, ok?"
I took time to listen and process what Ganke said. Ganke is a sweet person so I gave him the time of day. "Thank you Ganke, I'll keep that in mind." I sat and thought about how such a sweet guy was so close with a guy like Miles. I remember the story Jaya told, and thought about how they were best friends before and after the incident. "Ganke, come back here and work on your part." Ganke was called back to the desk by Gwen. I feel sorry for him.
The bell rang, and I headed to the dorm with Aria and Jaya. As usual, we ran through plenty of topics while I made matcha tea latte's for everyone. "So, what are you gonna wear to the skating rink?" Aria said, sipping her latte. I shrugged my shoulders, "I don't know. I'm not even that excited anymore. Ganke warned me about this date with Judge in class." I sighed, setting my drink down. "He went on about not knowing Judge's intentions even though that's his roommate. Even said that Miles is too prideful to say that he cares."
Aria shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe he kept quiet so that Miles wouldn't know the details of y'all's date. I mean they are roommates." That makes sense. Jaya puts on a serious face for once, "well how about you wear something more baggy so that you can carry your tiny protector taser. Hook the alarm on your belt so you can pull it at any time. We'll be on speed dial if necessary." I nod, grabbing the seeming rubber ducky taser and raindrop keychain alarm.
I go ahead and get ready putting on a crop top with baggy jeans. I put minimal makeup on before hearing a knock on the door. I opened the door to see Judge wearing a hoodie and jeans. "Hey, Kori. You look beautiful." I thank him and we head on our way.
As we made our way to the skating rink, I started the conversation "um so how was your day?" I didn't really care, but I felt like I needed to start talking. "Yea it was coo or whateva, ma" I'm sorry what? That sounded completely forced. AND MA?
"Ohhh, ok." I gave him a harddd side eye. We finally make it to the skating rink and he pays for his ticket and walks off. Excuse me? Why ask me out if you weren't going to pay for a $10 ticket. I paid for the ticket, but I'm already in a bad mood. I text the girls telling them to be on standby because it's already bad.
We go onto the floor and start skating. I already know how to skate, but I acted as if it was new for me so that I could kick the date off. He was skating laps around me, to the point of where I just sat down at a table. I looked at my phone and saw a message from Jaya in our group chat.
Everything is figured out, don't worry about it. We got you. We're on standby.
Judge noticed and ran over. "Mamita, what's up? Did I do somethin'?" I look at him with the dumbest look possible. "Who do you think you are, Miles? You've been rude to me during this so-called date ok. I don't want to be here anymore." He was taken aback, and realized what I was talking about. "Hey, I'm sorry. Let's start fresh." Judge went to the cafe to buy us food and he came back with it.
