"Please tell me that you got arrested. I would love to hear that Captain America got arrested!" Howard yells.

After Lizzie and Bucky finished on the dance floor, they joined Howard, Peggy, and Steve at the table where they were now having some liquid celebration. Lizzie doesn't drink much but she is a light weight so it wasn't long before she sat in Bucky's lap and started dishing all the embarrassing stories of their childhood.

"No! It was actually Jaime who-"

He quickly covers her mouth, knowing where this story goes. Though this particular story didn't involve him going to jail, it also wasn't one he wanted Carter or Stark knowing either.

"That's enough from you," he says.

She licks his hand and he jerks it from her mouth.

"Gross, Ellie," he says.

He knows she's drunk when she leans in and whispers something in his ear that is not appropriate for company.

"Behave," he whispers back.

She rolls her eyes but luckily none of their companions caught on to the untoward conversation. Bucky is actually surprised that he isn't more drunk. He generally has a high tolerance for alcohol but he's drank a lot and he doesn't feel a thing. Everyone at the table has drank more than their share of liquor but it seems only Lizzie and Howard are really affected. He's actually impressed at how well Carter handles her liquor.

"You are a hoot, Lizzie, I must say," Howard says as he takes a sip of his drink.

"Why, thank you Mr. Stark. You're not at all like I thought you'd be," she says.

"Oh, and how might that be?" Howard asks with a flirtatious grin.

"Married," Bucky grumbles under his breath. Usually she would chastise him for his comment but she just giggles.

"I found you brilliant-"

"Oh, I love this," he says.

"And arrogant and unimaginative," she finishes.

Howard is stumped because that was definitely not a word that he got thrown at him all that often.

Howard is surprised. He has been called a lot of things but he has never been accused of having a lack of imagination.

"You did see me make a car fly, right? What could be more imaginative than that?" He asks.

She had mentioned going to the Stark expo with Barnes. He knew he was a bit of a showman but that kind of stunt impressed most people.

"The technology itself is ground breaking but I think that you aren't thinking about how you can apply your inventions for different purposes," Lizzie explains.

Howard always liked a challenge and he was genuinely interested in what she had to offer.

"Such as?" Howard asks.

Lizzie feels as if she is pushing some boundaries. She just met this man but he seems to be intrigued so she continues.

"Well, for example, your Internal Holographic Matrix. You invented that so car manufacturers could build engines faster. It projects a three dimensional model so all you have to do is line up the parts to the model like a jigsaw puzzle. What if you applied that technology to another field?" Lizzie says.

Bucky was floored that even incredibly intoxicated she could still debate scientific processes and use multi syllable words. He had to admit that it was incredibly attractive to him. Some men would be repelled by having an intelligent wife but he's secure enough in his masculinity that he loves that she is so much smarter than most people. He loves seeing her put Howard Stark of all people in his place.
