Chapter 26

His hands moved to my waist as I continued to feel his soft lips against mine. My heart raced as my hands slowly brushed over his chest and reached up to his face.

This was almost a fantasy moment for me ever since I had a crush on him a few years ago. Smiling, I broke off the kiss to see his beautiful shining eyes looking at me.

He gave me a shy smile. "What was that for?" He opened his mouth to say something else when a voice cut him off.

"Wow Nate, you let her take advantage of you?" I looked over at Kristie to see her holding up her phone. It looked like she was filming everything. She eventually put her phone down and pointed at me. "I was happy until you got in the picture and ruined everything! Nate and I were great friends, but then he just couldn't shut up about you! And I was sick of it. I might be a nice wonderful girl but deep inside I'm hurting so much because Nate," she turned to look him in the eye as a few stray tears left her eyes, "I am I love with you, and if you continue this with her I will become who I was back when you first met me, and I will have my revenge. I will end it all!"

She turned around and stormed away. I watched her leave with my mouth parted in shock. What just happened? That was not exactly the reaction I was expecting out of her.

Nate turned to look at me with guilty eyes. "I'm sorry, I'll call you later." Then he ran off after Kristie, leaving me alone.

I'm sorry to repeat, but what just happened? And more importantly, what should I do? If he left me right now does that mean that he chooses her over me? I needed some help. I took out my phone and called the one person I knew who could help.

We were in the school courtyard sipping on milk tea when I began to tell Stacy what happened today. Her jaw dropped after I had finished telling her about Kristie. Her eyes were wide with disbelief as she finally closed her mouth and tried to process what I just told her. "So... is she a fake or is she not? I'm kind of confused here."

"Yeah, I think so at least. But I mean it kind of seemed like she did change but at the same time she didn't. Either way she's in love with Nate and she's become crazy!" I lifted my hands up in the air in emphasis. 

Stacy narrowed her eyes at me. "Wait, since when did you and Nate get together anyways? I thought you just got over Logan. "

 slowly put down my arms and my face began to heat up a bit. "I- uh. Well I..." I was grasping for words that weren't forming. I didn't want to tell her the main reason why I kissed him in the first place, and technically when I had planned to show him the video, it was supposed to be completely platonic. However, everything else that happened after that though, I had not planned for at all. "We're not together. It was just a kiss."

Stacy nodded. "Okay well no matter what that girl needs to be put in her place. She thinks she can mess with my BFF? Heck no. Although... I will say that maybe she's just crazy jealous, and that sweet person is still her."

I pursed my lips. "Really? You think so? She's been pretty bitter lately. Especially today when she kept insulting me."

She shrugged a shoulder and frowned. "Maybe the best way for you to not get more involved in the situation is to turn around and walk away."

"What do you mean? Walk away from what?" I raised my eyebrows in curiosity. She wasn't implying what I thought she was- was she? 

"Nate." Her eyes met mine as she shook her head. "Maybe you two shouldn't be together. Maybe this crazy Kristie is a sign."
