Chapter 18
I exited my English classroom with a sigh. We just had a really big test and I was 98% sure that I had failed it. Last night I might have procrastinated and worked on my gift for Logan. Hence, I slept really late and I didn't want to talk about how big my eye bags were at the moment. My shoulders were slumped as I made my way to my locker.

"Katie!" I glanced to my right to see Stacy walking next to me. "I feel like I haven't talked to you in a while." She said with a smile.

I shrugged and let out a little laugh. "Haha, really, you think so?"

"Yup." She nodded. "I swear Logan is talking all your time and leaving none for me." I furrowed my eyebrows for a moment and studied her face. Was that what was really happening? "I'm just kidding!" She exclaimed a moment later, although I'm not sure if she just retracted her statement to make me feel better. "So, you're coming tonight with Logan, right?"

"Yup." I forced myself to smile although inside I was super nervous for what was to come.

"I've also invited Kristie. Anyways, are you excited?" We both slowed down our walking as we approached our lockers.

"Yeah, mhm." I mumbled. My mind was nowhere near the conversation. I was actually focusing on a certain someone who was standing in front of my locker right now, looking around as if waiting for someone. In other words, me. He hadn't seen me yet so I quickly hid behind Stacy. "Can you get my stuff for me?" I asked her.

Stacy turned around and looked at me like I was crazy. "You're kidding me, right?"

"Please!" I gave her a begging look and she finally agreed. I watched her walk up to my locker and say "excuse me" to the guy. He quickly moved aside but looked at her in confusion when he realized that she was opening up my locker and getting my stuff out. Stacy completely ignored him and slammed the locker shut before walking away towards me. I laughed silently. Good job Stacy.

She finally reached me and handed me all my books. "Do you have any idea why Mr. OYES Its Nate guy is in front of your locker?"

I gave her a curious look. "Oyes it's nate? I always thought it was o yes its nate?"

Stacy rolled her eyes at me and shook my shoulders. "That's besides the point! Seriously, why is he standing there looking like a confused and lost 5-year old who just lost his parents at the supermarket!" Did she just compare him to a five year old? Ha, Stacy was too funny.

I glanced back at Nate before biting my lip. "I have no idea. Maybe he wants to talk to me about Logan?"

"Well, I don't know but I got to go now. See you later!" It was only then that I realized that Marcus was waiting at the side for Stacy. Stacy walked up to him and hugged him before leaving the hallway. I sighed before taking out my phone to see if Logan was going to be picking me up today.

Bond, Logan Bond: hey kit kat srry i cant pick u up 2day. i asked nate to, hope thats okay =)

I looked back at Nate before leaving the hallway. Get a ride home from Nate? Heck no. I already had to experience the torture of awkwardness at his house the other day. I certainly was not looking forward to more.

Katie: Hey Kristie did u guys leave yet?

A reply came a moment later that made me cringe.

Kristie: just left the parking lot. sorry =(

Katie: its okay. thanks

I took a deep breath and walked back into the hallway. A smile formed on my lips when I saw Nate still standing there, probably feeling weird because he was one of the last few people left in the hall. He noticed me immediately and I could see relief on his face.
