Chapter 16

After laying on my bed for the past thirty minutes trying to figure out what to do, I finally got up to get ready for my date. Logan had texted me this morning that we weren't doing anything fancy today like singing in front of a stage at a cafe or ice skating. Instead, he was going to take me to his house, especially to meet his mother. Then after that he promised he would take me somewhere else, because apparently his house was boring.

I honestly couldn't wait as I brushed my teeth and put on a set of clothes my mom set out for me. It was just a cute grey sweater and some skinny jeans. I didn't know what was so special about them, but she made me promise I would wear it. Probably so I wouldn't "look like I just came from school," which was apparently a bad thing.

As I finished brushing my hair and looked in the mirror to make sure I looked fabulous- at least a little bit- my phone chimed and the screen lit up.

Bond, Logan Bond: I'm at your house rn. Can't wait to see you <3

I giggled to myself as I ran down the stairs. My parents had already left for work so it was just me again. Hoping that Logan would have food at his house, I went straight out the door and locked it behind me. There, sitting in my driveway, was my wonderful boyfriend. I was a bit nervous, however, because I had to ask him about game night, and I had no idea how to do that.

~-----------------------------~

We arrived at his house after a pleasant conversation about this new movie that just came out. I haven't seen it before, but he kept telling me about how 'epic' it was.

As I got out of the car, I looked up at his house and smiled. It was exactly how I imagined. His house was huge, but it wasn't all that fancy. It was actually quite plain, but at the same time, elegant? I walked beside Logan to his house as he grabbed my hand and entwined our fingers.

"Welcome, Kit Kat." He looked down at me and made me blush.

I wasn't sure how to respond so I said, "Thank you?" For those teachers out there, that was definitely a question.

Logan unlocked the door and pulled me inside behind him. He wrapped his arm around my neck and looked around. "So, what do you think?"

Glancing all around, I felt my jaw drop. It was beautiful. An exquisite golden chandelier hung above the vast living room and the whole house was filled with exquisite paintings and furniture that looked so comfortable I could sit on them and never want to get up. Even the walls were painted this egg shell color that just made everything else look even better.

My awing of the house was interrupted by an unfamiliar voice. "Hi sweetie, you must be Katie."

I turned to my left and set my eyes upon a lady that was wearing dangling crystal earrings and a casual light green dress. She somewhat resembled Logan. I quickly glanced up at Logan to see him smiling down at me before I replied to her.

"Hi Mrs. Bond, nice to meet you." I smiled, unsure of what to do next.

Mrs. Bond's smile grew even wider and she held her arms out. Logan let go of me and I instinctively walked forward to hug her.

"I'm so glad to finally meet you. You're so pretty too! I've been wondering if he was ever going to bring you here," her eyes flickered to her son before settling back on me, "It was obvious once he started always coming home late and then texting me about how he needed advice on what to wear. And then he-"

"Mother," he cut her off, "I apologize but can we leave the 'how you found out' stuff for later? I have today all planned out and I don't want to waste a minute of it."
