Chapter 10
I woke up early Saturday morning after a pretty restless sleep. The whole date and the Skype call after... I was just on cloud nine and refused to come back down. When I came downstairs for breakfast my parents both smirked at my floaty self. Embarrassed, I quickly grabbed some toast and ran back upstairs. I definitely did not want to have a talk about Logan and dating and all that stuff.
I was halfway through my toast when Stacy called. "Morning!" I yelled. Except with my mouth full, it sounded like, "Mawng!"
"I'm going to pretend that you didn't just answer the phone with your mouth full." Stacy laughed. "Anyways, I saw you leave with Logan after school! What happened?! And by the way did you see Nate? He was looking at you guys with like a serious face. Do you know what's up with that?"
Thankfully I had swallowed the rest of my toast becuase my mouth dropped open. "Nate. He. What?!"
"Yeah he was staring off at you guys weirdly. But like of course he did it discreetly so all his popular friends wouldn't notice him not paying attention."
"Wait. How do you know this? Were you staring at him?"
"I- what?! No no no. Of course not."
I rolled my eyes. "Right." Denial- I could smell it through the phone.
"Honestly I wasn't!" She defended.
"Okay, okay. I believe you."
"Finally." I could hear the smile in her voice. "So it's Saturday, and I was wondering if you're busy? We can hang out at my house or something."
"Marcus isn't going to be there is he? I wouldn't want to third wheel..."
Stacy laughed. "Just get over here!"
I smiled. I guess I'll just have to find out when I get there.

A week has passed since my ice skating date with Logan. One boring week. Just school, and of course Logan's daily visits. Except, he stopped coming during lunch and only came by after school. Week 2 and he was already slacking as a boyfriend. Haha, if only that were the problem. Whenever I asked him about that Lyla person he would change the subject. The same would happen if I mentioned Nate. What was going on?
On Sunday night I decided to give Nate a call. He obviously knew more about Logan than I did, and I wasn't sure if I trusted Lyla enough to call her.
"Hey Katie what's up?" He said happily.
"Um nothing much. I just wanted to ask you a couple questions..."
"Sure, go ahead."
I took a deep breath. Now's my chance. Unless of course Nate decides to hang up on me. I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to calm down, not to think negatively. "I-I um...Nate I... what... You know Logan... Why..." A sentence refused to form properly. I facepalmed myself.
"So from what I gathered, you're calling about Logan?"
"Yeah," I breathed. "I want to know what he's hiding from me." My heart started to pound. I was freaking out about what he was going to say.
There was a brief pause. "Look, Logan is a good friend of mine and I know that when the time comes he'll tell you alright?" Well that sounded like a bunch of cliche BS. He continued, "All you need to know is that he genuinely likes you and that whatever he's hiding you'll find out eventually. Just don't worry about it alright?"
"Okay." I said quietly. "Well thanks. I'll talk to you at school. Bye." I hung up and stared at the phone in my palm. What was going on? With every question I asked I just kept getting the same answer. I loved spending time and being with Logan, but maybe this relationship just isn't meant to be...
