Chapter 15

I let out a shaky breath as I sat down on a freezing metal bench in the cold winter air. My mind replayed everything that just happened over and over again. I squeezed my eyes shut. There was no way I was going back in there... Into that chaos. I hugged myself and ran my hands up and down my arms to keep warm.

Turning around, I looked into the windows of gym to see the Winter Ball dance that I thought would have been one of the most memorable experiences ever. I was right, but now I wish I wasn't. Nate trying to get a dance with me and then seeing this incredibly jealous side of Logan was just too much.

Hearing footsteps to my right, I quickly looked up to see Logan. His eyes were filled with concern and sorrow. I slowly stood up and turned to face him.

Seeing that I was shivering, he stepped closer to me and opened his arms as if he wanted a hug. I shook my head and took a step back. There was no way I was letting this go so easily. Thankfully he got the message and maintained the space between us.

"Katie, I am so sorry about what happened in there. I would never want to hurt you. It's just Nate... He crossed the line. Please forgive me. Kit Kat. Please." He begged. He opened his arms once more and beckoned me to come to him.

I scoffed and shivered again slightly. "He crossed the line? Logan you've got to be kidding me! It was just one dance! Why are you so jealous and possessive over me!"

As I said the words "jealous" and "possessive" he looked a bit hurt, with one eyebrow raised up and his eyes expressing his feelings.

"Katie, I'm just-"

I cut him off before he could say anything else. "And I know there's something about you that you aren't telling me. And I have a pretty good idea that it has something to do with Nate. And heck, maybe even this whole relationship! Was it a freaking coincidence that both you and Nate asked me out on the same day! Or how about when you found me on the sidewalk right after I was with Nate? What is the connection! The other day at the cafe either you or Nate lied to me because the stories about how you met don't match up! Look Logan, I'm not stupid. I've been waiting all this time for you to tell me, but it looks like you never will. I want to know why you can't trust me to tell me!" I paused and took a deep breath. "If a relationship is built on trust, and you don't have any for me... Then I think we'll have to break up." I whispered.

Logan sighed and walked over to me. Yelling at him made me sad and tired. I didn't move away when Logan took off his blazer to wrap around my shoulders. He then enveloped me into a warm hug.

"Katie, I will tell you everything you need to know, okay? Please don't leave me." His hands soothingly rubbed my back and it sent tingles down my spine.

"Promise me you'll tell me the truth?" I pulled away slightly and looked him in the eye.

"I promise, baby. Whatever you need to know." Logan smiled in that handsome way of his that made me smile back at him.

"Okay, can I start asking questions now?" I asked impatiently.

Logan smirked at me and lightly kissed my cheek. "Of course. Not here though." He pulled away and held my hand, guiding us back to his car.

I followed him hesitantly, unsure of where he was taking me. "Logan, where are we going?" I asked as we both buckled in.

"Where it all began." Logan ambiguously replied, leaving me confused and frustrated. Where what all began? Where the hiding began? Where we began?

I decided to not push for an answer as I was going to find out where we were going soon anyways. This had happened too many times before that I wasn't nervous at all. I trusted him. Eventually we stopped at the park- the park that was near my house. And also the one where he first met me. Ooh.
