Aemond has already talked with Rhaenyra and is talking with Luke now but Jace has disagreed to talk with Aemond. Daelys has gone upto his room to talk some sense into him.
"Jace, can you just talk to him?" Daelys asks her brother.
Jace turns away from her looking out of the window. "Why are you marrying him?" Jace asks ignoring Daelys' question.
Daelys sighs. "Because the law states I cannot disobey the King's order." Daelys replies.
"Do you love him?" Jace asks next without letting Daelys say anything else.
Daelys bites her lower lip. "As much as I want to say no for you, I can't. I do love him and I have loved him for as long as I can remember."
"Then you are betraying your family." Jace replies.
Daelys walks over to Jace with quick confident strides. She grabs his shoulders and makes him face her. "Why are you acting like this?" She asks Jace firmly. Jace doesn't look her in the eye. "Tell me." Daelys orders. "Now, Jacaerys."
Jace slightly trembles. "Because I hate him! And he hates us!" He shouts at Daelys. "I know he will do anything to get his revenge on what we did to him!"
Daelys let's go of Jace's shoulder. "He is ready to forgive you if you talk with him." She says. "Do you love me?"
Jace looks at Daelys surprised. "Of course I love you, Sister." He immediately replies.
Daelys nods. "Then you will talk with Aemond." She says and starts to walk towards the door.
"He is destroying us already. Why can't you see?!" Jace shouts after Daelys. "He will not stop until Luke and I are dead. That is what he wants."
Daelys turns around to Jace. Jace has never seen her angry before but now Daelys is angrier than she has ever been before. Jace flinches from the heat radiating from Daelys.
"You made a mistake and your inflated ego won't even accept it." Daelys states, her voice perfectly calm. "You are the one who is destroying our family. Your mistake almost started a war. And you blame Aemond for everything. If you are not down there before Aemond leaves-" Daelys glares at Jace who steps back further. "-I will consider that you are not my brother."
Saying this Daelys walks out of the room and makes her way to where Aemond is still talking to Luke. She waits outside with her mother.
Aemond is waiting in the room for whichever brother he has to talk to. Finally Luke enters looking extremely nervous. Aemond does nothing to make him any less nervous, simply stares Luke down.
'Daelys will kill me when she learns what I am doing. Fuck, she's not here and she doesn't need to know anything.' Aemond thinks.
Aemond can't help but hold a grudge against Luke for losing his eye. After all he was the one who held the knife. Daelys had explained to him that Luke didn't understand everything, followed what Jace did.
"Are you really marrying Daelys?" Luke asks hesitantly breaking the silence between them.
Aemond eyes Luke up and down. "Yes I am." Aemond replies finally.
"And does she want it?" Luke asks still hesitant.
"As far as I know." Aemond replies curtly again.
"I am sorry. I shouldn't have done it but I thought you were going to attack Daelys because that is what Jace said and I believed him. I know I shouldn't have but-" Aemond stops Luke's ranting by putting up a hand.
"I know what your brother said." Aemond tells Luke. "Daelys told me all of it." Luke relaxes slightly. "I may not be able to forgive you completely but for Daelys, I can atleast make sure I don't hate you."
Luke nods. "That is all I ask for. I will do whatever I need to for Daelys."
At that moment Aemond realises something. How wrong he was in thinking that no one here cares for Daelys. Everyone who lives on Dragonstone cares more for Daelys than themselves.
Aemond nods. "Who else is left?" He asks.
"Jace." Luke replies.
Aemond sighs. "Very well." Aemond tells Luke ending their talk.
Luke walks out of the room very fast and Aemond smiles a little noticing that. He doesn't wait for very long when the doors open again.
Daelys enters and walks to Aemond. She sits down beside him. "I am sure that isn't allowed." Aemond says smirking slightly.
Daelys rolls her eyes and smirks slightly. "Since you hate my company-" Daelys gets up to walk away but Aemond holds her hand.
"I said it is not allowed, never I hate it." Aemond points out to Daelys.
Daelys sits back down. "How has it all being going?" A slight hint of worry is present in Daelys' voice.
Aemond shrugs. "I never had a problem with my sister or uncle, surprisingly." Aemond says. "The only ones I have ever had a problem with are your brothers."
"You never knew Daemon and Mother has only tolerated you because of me. "And how was your talk with Luke?"
"He is alright. As you had said he never did anything. I am to blame as much as they are. I am the one who called them bastards. That always has some-" Aemond is stopped by the door opening.
Jace enters the room. They turn around and Daelys is surprised by Jace coming down. Aemond keeps his emotions controlled. He has been told by both Daelys and Luke that if anyone is to be blamed it's Jace. And now he is standing right in front of Aemond.
Jace walks forward until he is standing right in front of Aemond. The last time they had been this close Aemond had lost his eye. The tension in the air is so thick that it can be cut by a knife.
"You want to marry my sister?" Jace asks Aemond. His face is set not betraying any anything.
Daelys stands at ready to intervene if anything goes wrong. Her eyes fall to the door where she notices Daemon standing. She sighs a little. It will be easier to control them if Daemon is there too.
"I do." Aemond says, his face also set.
Jace extends a hand. Aemond looks down at it trying to understand where Jace is going with this. "As long as she agrees I won't say a word."
Aemond considers it for a minute and takes his hand. "I don't see a problem with that."
"It's a wonder you can see." Jace mutters which Daelys hears very well. Aemond tenses up showing he heard it too.
But before things can escalate Daemon walks into the room. "Everyone is gathered around the table. We are waiting for you."
"I will have to leave if it is already past noon." Aemond says letting go of Jace's hand and walking towards the door.
"I will see him off and then join you all at the table." Daelys tells Daemon and follows Aemond.
"Aemond, don't listen to him. His opinion matters the least." Daelys says catching up to Aemond.
"I don't care about what he says." Aemond says not turning to Daelys.
Daelys notices Aemond's hand holding the saddle. He is gripping it so tight that his knuckles have turned white. Daelys takes his hands and rubs her fingers over his knuckles.
"I can tell when you are lying to me. I know his comment bothered you more than you are saying. I am his sister and even I sometimes hate him." A small smile forms on both of their faces at the last part.
"Back then everything was simpler." Aemond's voice holds longing for those days.
"Maybe together we can make it like that again." Daelys' voice holds the same longing.
"Maybe." Aemond says. "I will see you tomorrow, my sapphire." Aemond kisses Daelys' hand.
"You will, my dragon." Daelys replies, smirking slightly.
They share a small kiss before Aemond gets on his dragon and flies away.
