"What are you going to do now?" Aemond asks Daelys. "It was an act of war."

"And war it shall result in." Daelys answers. "Unless they hand Jacaerys over to us and renames me as heir."

"Aegon and Helaena will not be satisfied by it." Aemond points out.

"There is only much I can do." Daelys says.

"You can change the terms slightly." Aemond suggests.

"Continue." Daelys says intrigued.

"What if in your peace offer, you tell them to make you Queen instead of naming you heir?" Aemond suggests.

A small smirk finds it's way to Daelys' face. "Not bad." She admits. "But Rhaenyra will have to go to exile as well."

"That can be worked out later." Aemond states smirking as well.

Caron enters the room and the two turn to him. "Daemon has requested an audience with you both." He says.

"What is he doing here in daylight?" Aemond asks rhetorically.

"Show him in." Daelys orders. "He won't like to learn about Rhaena." Daelys mutters after Caron has left.

"He will get to attend the funeral." Aemond says.

Daelys sighs. "That is little comfort for someone who lost his daughter." She states.

Daemon enters the room with a set face, showing no emotions. But Daelys knows that something is wrong. It's uncommon for Daemon to be like this. And he is quiet and his eyes are not observing the room like they are supposed to.

"What is it?" Daelys asks when Daemon doesn't say anything for a few minutes.

"Rhaenyra is dead." His statement is met with complete silence as neither Daelys nor Aemond know what to say to that. "Viserys shot an arrow towards me but Rhaenyra jumped in the way. Her last words were... were to protect you."

Usually Daelys would have gotten mad at that but now she looks down. She doesn't want to let anyone see the tears gathering in her eyes. They all stay silent for a few minutes.

"How long ago was it?" Daelys finally asks, her voice quivering ever so slightly.

"A few hours before dawn." Daemon answers.

"Father?" They turn to see Baela standing at the door. She rushes over and hugs Daemon catching him by surprise. Baela has never been one who shows affection.

"What is it?" Daemon asks.

Daelys and Aemond exchange a look. "Rhaena." Aemond finally answers. "She went into early labour. The choice was given. She made it."

They are all silent. Daemon hugs his daughter. In less than two days, everyone has lost someone they cared about. Some more than others.

Everyone is gathered outside on the cliff. The pyre with Rhaena Targaryen's body burns in front of them. The news about what has happened to Rhaenyra has already spread and that Jacaerys has crowned himself king in front of the crowd has reached them as well.

The crowd had rejected him as king and had thrown stones and pebbles at him. The Kingsguard were forced to escort Jacaerys and Viserys to safety quickly.

As the pyre burns low, Daemon finally appears in front of them all. No Lord calls him a traitor anymore. They all sympathize with him for his loss of wife and daughter in the same day.

He walks over to Rhaenyra and Aemond who stand in the very front. He reaches into the bag he had taken from Rhaenyra and brings out her crown and Viserys' before her. Daemon gives the crown to Aemond and steps back.
