The next morning they wake up early enough for Aemond to sneak back to his room without anyone noticing.
The breakfast is a tense affair but not much words are exchanged between anyone except Aemond and Daelys. Even then they make it seem that they are only talking because it is expected of them.
As soon as breakfast is over, everyone leaves the room faster than possible. Daelys and Aemond are the last to leave and they also have to separate for appearances sake.
As Daelys is going to Rhaenyra's room, she is approached by Aegon. "Can I tell you something?" He asks, looking around nervously.
Daelys furrows her brows. "What is it?" She asks.
Aegon looks around once more and steps closer lowering his voice. "Mother and grandsire are planning on how to get rid of Rhaenyra."
Daelys' eyes widen. She looks around before deciding to speak in Valyrian. "And how did you learn this?"
"I eavesdrop outside their rooms regularly", he answers.
Daelys nods and puts a hand on Aegon's shoulder. "Go back and don't give them a reason to suspect anything. And next time you want to say something like this to me don't come yourself find some other way."
Aegon nods and goes away and Daelys quickly makes her way to her mother's room. This is something that she needs to know immediately.
Entering Daelys finds Rhaenyra and Daemon talking which stops as soon as Daelys enters.
"Has something happened?" Daemon asks.
Daelys looks around the room and spots a handmaiden looking after her two youngest brothers, Aegon and Viserys. "Get rid of her first", she says.
Rhaenyra furrows her brows but does as Daelys said. As soon as the handmaiden out of the room, Daelys tells them what Aegon told her.
"And why would Aegon tell you this?" Daemon asks.
"Gratitude", Daelys replies. "Instead of telling Alicent what Aegon was doing I helped him."
Daemon looks pissed at this while Rhaenyra looks interested. "Are you saying you might have won Aegon's loyalty?" She asks.
Daelys shrugs. "That is possible. Nobody ever treats him with anything other than contempt. When someone like that is treated in any other way, you can win their loyalty."
This gets Daemon's attention too. "If this keeps going all of Alicent's children will throw their support to you", Daemon says looking at Daelys.
Daelys nods. "If this goes on."
Rhaenyra nods. "We will be careful from now and you need to make sure that Jace doesn't make anything worse too."
Daelys nods. "I won't be surprised if he has already done something." She says.
Daemon smirks slightly. "Neither would I."
Rhaenyra shakes her head. "I trust him to not do anything stupid." She says.
Daelys hates her mother's reply. She has noticed a slight change in her mother ever since she learned about Daelys and Aemond. Daemon has also noted this but he doesn't say anything about it.
Daelys exits the room and soon enough Daemon joins her. "Do you understand this language?" Daemon asks in Pentoshi.
"I am not as well versed in Pentoshi as I am in Valyrian but maybe it will be enough for now." She replies.
