Everyone has gathered around the table to make the final plans before battle. The Baratheons, the Freys and the Greyjoys have sided with Jacaerys with others from the Great Houses who want to become Lord. House Tyrell has decided to stay away from the fighting.
"Driftmark has become a problem." Daemon says. "Unless we have complete control of the seas, we cannot move our armies."
"What happens if we remove Ser Vaemond?" Aemond asks.
"The soldiers will never unite unless we can provide them with someone whose... blood they will never doubt." Rhaenys answers.
"That can be managed." Daelys says evasively.
"How?" Luke asks. The Lords exchange looks and even Aemond stares at her.
"Then it appears we have a need to finish the ongoing fight in Stepstones." Daemon says.
"It appears we do." Daelys agrees.
"What is in Stepstones?" Cregan asks.
"And how does that help us with our Driftmark problem?" Jason adds.
Daelys mentally prepares for the reaction as Daemon gives them the answer. "Leanor Velaryon is alive."
"What is our biggest problem?" Jacaerys asks those gathered in his war room.
"Everything, your Grace." Ser Vaemond answers. "The only advantage we have is the Velaryon navy. Unless they can make Leanor or Leana come back from the dead, the navy will never side with them."
Everyone becomes nervous as the answer leaves Vaemond's mouth. "Then let us make everything their problem." Jacaerys says. "They will take time to attack. They have lost too much and will act on anger. Let us use that to our advantage."
"What do you suggest we do, your Grace?" Ser Tyland asks.
"That was something." Aemond admits once they are alone again.
"I am sorry I never told you." Daelys says. "I just didn't know how to."
Aemond shakes his head. "Whatever happened, happened. We don't have to dwell on that. Right now we need to focus on how we can end the fighting."
"Blaze and Cannibal together should be able to do it." Daelys suggests. "Blaze's fires are hot and I can make sure the fire goes deep."
"And Cannibal can add more fire thus making sure that it is done." Aemond finishes. He stares at Daelys in wonder. "Sometimes I wonder how you are so efficient."
Daelys smirks. "Keep wondering." She says. "But after we get back from the Stepstones."
"Of course you will say that." Aemond mutters and Daelys suppresses a laugh. "How will you convince Leanor?"
"By talking to him?" Daelys says uncertainly.
"All we can do is hope." Aemond sighs. "Who will be looking after everything while we are gone?"
"Daena and Jaehaerys." Daelys answers as if it's the most natural thing. "With Dyanna's help." She adds when she notices the raised eyebrow.
"I gather she wasn't close to Rhaena or Maelor." Aemond states.
"She had seen Maelor once or twice." Daelys answers. "As for Rhaena, they only ever talked if it was necessary. I would hardly call that being close."
"Very well." Aemond says. "When do we leave?"
