tw; mentions of a panic attack, blood
The day of the Rave'n is finally here.
Currently, it's 9am. We open doors to the dance at 7pm. We should have plenty of time, doing the finishing touches and taking care of everything. We should. But I can't help but feel that constant gnawing feeling in my stomach, that we're not going to make it in time. That something will go wrong.
I've been pacing around Nevermore the whole morning, making sure everything gets done. To be honest, I'm not even sure at which point did I become the leader of the Rave'n planning. Of course, Ms Thornhill is there too. But everyone seems to come to me, asking what to do, how to do things, how can they help...
But I do like having things this way, even though it stresses me out. A lot.
Right now, I'm walking through the hall with my clipboard and the checklist.
"Yo, Ajax! Is the decks for the DJ ready?" I ask the boy.
He shows me a thumbs up, "Yes, ma'am! The mixer's there, so are the players. Everything's ready for when he shows up."
"Great, thank you Ajax! Decks, check." I put a check mark on the DJ.
"What's next... Yoko! Did you and Divina get the punch ingredients with Principal Weems?"
"Yeah, she drove us to Jericho last night. Bianca said she and Xavier will add the 'fun' to the punch tonight." She says.
I check the punch, too. "Great!"
Do we have the tables set? Where's the tablecloths? Oh, right. They're at the laundry rooms. Wasn't someone supposed to get them?
Ah, fuck it. I'll do it myself.
I walk out of the room, speed walking to the laundry room. Thousands of thoughts racing my mind, my breathing picking up. I guess I don't pay attention to my surroundings that much, since as I'm rounding a corner, I bump into someone, falling backwards.
"Shit, sorry," I say hurriedly, getting up quickly.
"Y/N?"
I look up at whoever I bumped into. "Rissa?"
"What are you doing, why are you in such a hurry?" She asks.
I rub my temples to try to ease the growing headache. "I have to get the tablecloths from the laundry room, then I've to make sure everything else is done and under control." I say, starting to walk again. She comes to walk beside me, looking a bit worried.
"Can I help with anything? Y/N, I'm concerned about you. You're doing too much on your own, you need to calm down for a bit," She says, trying to slow me down but I just pick up my pace.
"Larissa, I can't calm down. The Rave'n is less than 12 hours away, and I fear we're running out of time." I say, opening the door to the laundry room. The keys in my shaking hands are making an annoying clinking noice.
"Can-" I sigh deeply, holding my own waist with my hands to not have a panic attack right now. "Can you help me with these?" I ask, picking up half of the 50 tablecloths.
She nods and picks the other half, and we head back. Just as we're laying the tablecloths down on a table, Enid comes to ask me, that-
"Y/N! Did you already ask the roadies to get the Yeti statue up in there?"
I widen my eyes in realization. I forgot.
"Fuck! Uh- I will go ask now..." I say, starting to feel dizzy. I speed walk to the back entrance, steadying myself a bit by holding onto the doors.
