Chapter 1

I'm laying in my bed, probably for the last time. Tomorrow I leave for my new school, Nevermore Academy. I really don't want to go, I'll be leaving all my friends behind. On the other hand, I'll get away from my family.

I hear a knock on my door and I mumble "Come in" as my mother steps inside my room. "I just wanted to tell you that we're leaving tomorrow at 7am sharp. Pack your things and go to bed soon." I don't respond anything to her so she gets out.

I lay there for a while, thinking about every possible scenario for tomorrow. After a while, my phone pings and I pick it up to see who texted. It's Daniela, my best friend.

D: Yo Y/N come outside

I get up from my bed and make my way to the window. I live on the second floor but to my luck, there's a ladder next to my window. I open the window and climb down the ladder.

"What is it Dani"

"I wanted to surprise you since it's your last night here."

I frown a bit in confusion. Then around the corner, six more of my friends come to my yard. Now there's Dani, Camille, Michael, Andre, Anya, Noah, Toby and me.
"What is all this?" I laugh at my friends.

"It's a farewell" Michael says sarcastically and comes to wrap his arms around me. I hug him back and laugh into his chest.

"We thought you'd want to have some fun for the last night here" Anya says with a smirk on her face. She pulls out a bottle of vodka. I chuckle and high-five at her. To my surprise, Anya isn't the only one who has something to drink. Everyone pulls out a bottle of vodka out of their bags and I look at all them in shock. They see my reaction and start laughing.

We spent the rest of the night laughing, dancing, gossiping and of course drinking.

"Promise you won't forget us" Camille comes up to me and takes my hand. "I promise, I could never forget you guys! You're my family."

"And promise you'll be in touch and visit often!!" Toby utters and hugs me.

"Cross my heart" I say and wink at him.

I hug each and every one of them. We hang out until sunrise. I look at the time, it's 6am already.

"Guys, I have to go now. Last minute packing"

"Awww come here" Andre says to me and I go to hug him, suddenly everyone comes and we spend almost a minute in a group hug.

"I love you all"

"We love you too"

Everyone else leaves but Dani stays behind.

"Y/N, here's something that'll make you remember me."

"Dani, like I said I could never forget you!"

She hands me a rhinestone-embroidered flask. On the bottom of it there's my and Dani's initials. It feels heavy and I shake it a bit, giving her a smirk when I realize it's full.

"For the boring days without me" she says and hugs me. "I love you bestie" "I love you too Dani"

She leaves and I stumble my way across my yard, still super drunk. I climb up the ladder and open the window, getting in my room and falling down to the floor.

"Shit.." I curse to myself as I hold my now slightly sprained ankle.

I sit down at the chair to the vanity and look at my face. It still has my yesterday makeup... I remove that and redo it. Apparently the concealer didn't work on my undereyes as I still look half dead. I shrug and take my biggest sunglasses, covering my eyes with them.
