Today is the death anniversary of my father. My mom won't be coming because she is caught up with a business meeting. So I think I am gonna go alone.

But as I opened the door, I saw Alex standing .

Alex, what are you doing here? I asked kissing his cheek.

I came here to check on you sweetheart, by the way where are you going? He asked kissing me back.

I'm going to cemetery, it's my dad's death anniversary, I said looking away to hide my watery eyes.

I'm so sorry my love, can I come with you ?he asked hugging me.

Yes, you can if you want to, i said.

We started driving towards the cemetery. And as soon as arrived I ran towards the place where my dad was buried.

As they reached the gravestone, I couldn't contain my emotions any longer. The sorrow that had been bottled up inside her for so long erupted, and I cried out loudly, my voice echoing through the cemetery. It was as if each tear that fell carried a piece of her pain and longing. Alex, understanding the cathartic release I needed, stood beside her, offering a steady presence.

I sat there and started speaking with him.

Hi dad ,how are you? It's been more than 10 years you left. And since that day, I lost my smile. You were my protecter, my hero but as you left many people hurt me.

Dad, why did you left me ? I asked sobbing loudly. Why dad why?? I screamed. Please take me with you, I can't live in this world anymore.

I cried loudly, and suddenly I was engulfed, into a warm hug.

Shhh shh my love it's okay, he consoled me kissing my hair. I was still hiccupping in his chest. We both didn't stay anything, just enjoying the silence.
He was holding me tightly when I wept.
.........

Alex listened to Kate's cries, absorbing every word left unsaid. He understood that grief isn't something that can be fixed with words; it is a process that must be felt and acknowledged. In that moment, he became a pillar of strength, supporting her without judgment or expectation. His patience and compassion allowed her to express her anguish fully.

As time passed, Kate's cries subsided, and the weight on her shoulders seemed to lighten. The rawness of her pain began to fade, replaced by a sense of peace. Alex remained by her side, allowing her to lean on him as they stayed by her father's graveside. The silence between them held a profound understanding, as if their connection transcended the need for words.

After a while, Kate's tears turned into a gentle trickle, and she took a deep breath, finding solace in the support she had received. Alex wiped away her remaining tears and offered her a small, understanding smile. It was a smile that said, "I'm here for you, no matter what." In that moment, Kate felt a glimmer of hope amidst the sorrow.

Together, they stood up and began to walk away from the gravestone, their steps lighter than before. The weight of grief hadn't disappeared entirely, but it had become more bearable. Alex's unwavering support had made a world of difference, giving Kate the strength to face her emotions and find comfort in remembering her father.

Visiting the cemetery on her father's death anniversary was a bittersweet experience for Kate. While it brought forth the pain of loss, it also served as a reminder of the love and memories they had shared. And with Alex by her side, she realized that even in the depths of grief, there is always room for healing and support.

...............

After coming home, Kate was still upset and sad. Either she was starring at the wall or her dad's photo, she was silent all the time. I was so heart broken seeing her like this.

My love was suffering so much, so I didn't leave her alone for a one minute. She was in my arms, still looking at her dad's photo with watery eyes.

As Kate's grief overwhelmed her, tears streamed down her face. Her weeping intensified, and in those moments of vulnerability, I kissed her tears. Each gentle kiss carried an unspoken promise of love, support, and understanding. It was my way of reassuring her that she wasn't alone in her pain, that I was there to share the burden and offer solace.

In that intimate exchange of tears and kisses, I showed my deep empathy and compassion. I knew that grief couldn't be taken away or fixed, but I wanted to offer Kate a sense of comfort and remind her that she had someone by her side who cared deeply for her well-being. My actions spoke of a love that extended beyond romantic feelings, a love that encompassed friendship, support, and unwavering loyalty.

My love please don't cry, your tears are precious, and it hurts to see you cry, I said when I saw her tear strains flow through her cheeks.

It hurts, so much Alex, to loose the person you love the most, she said crying.

I know sweetheart, but I assure you that your dad is in a good place now, I said wiping her tears.

She smiled lightly and nestled her nead in my neck inhaling my scent.

In those moments of silence and vulnerability, my own sadness mingled with Kate's grief. I couldn't help but feel the weight of her pain as if it were my own. But I also found solace in knowing that my presence had made a difference, that my love and support had provided a modicum of comfort in her time of need.

In that moment, I knew that the journey of healing wouldn't be easy, but i was determined to walk alongside Kate, supporting her every step of the way. The memory of her father would always be cherished, and we would navigate the complexities of grief together, finding happiness in our shared love and unwavering support for one another.
