Kate's heart was pounding as she sprinted through the park, memories of Alex's betrayal flooding her mind. She couldn't believe he had the audacity to approach her after what he had done.

As Kate continued walking in the park, trying to enjoy the fresh air and clear her mind, a voice interrupted her thoughts.

"You seem sad, my sweetheart," the voice said, drawing her attention. She turned around, and to her surprise, it was Alex standing there.

"What are you doing here, Mr. Anderson?" Kate asked coldly, her guard immediately going up.

The memories of his betrayal rushed back, making her heart ache all over again.

I came here to see you, beautiful," Alex replied, taking a step closer to her. "I knew that if I tried to meet you at your office, you would call security. I had to take this chance to talk to you."

Kate's eyes narrowed, and she crossed her arms, not wanting to show any vulnerability in front of him. "What do you want from me?" she asked, avoiding his gaze, as if looking into his eyes would make her defenses crumble.

Please love, I just want to talk to you," Alex pleaded, his voice filled with regret. "I know I hurt you, and I can't change the past, but I need you to hear me out."

Kate hesitated, torn between the desire to walk away and the curiosity about what he had to say.

Part of her wanted closure, while the other part feared that opening up old wounds would only cause more pain.

Kate's heart pounded in her chest as the painful memories flooded back with each step she took.

The park that was once a serene escape had turned into a haunting reminder of the betrayal she endured.

Panic surged through her veins, and without thinking, she ran faster, desperately trying to put distance between herself and Alex.

"Please, Kate, stop!" Alex called after her, his voice filled with urgency and regret. "I just want to talk, I promise."

But Kate couldn't bring herself to stop. The emotions were too overwhelming, and she felt the need to escape the painful confrontation.

She could hear Alex's footsteps behind her, closing in as he chased after her, but she couldn't allow herself to slow down.

Her mind was a whirlwind of emotions - anger, hurt, confusion, and fear. She couldn't believe he had the audacity to approach her after what he had done. Every flashback felt like a fresh wound, reopening the pain she had tried so hard to bury.

As she ran, she reached a secluded area of the park, hidden behind trees and bushes. She took a moment to catch her breath, hoping she had managed to lose Alex.

Her chest heaved with exertion, and she wiped away the tears that had streamed down her face.

Kate couldn't understand why he had followed her or why he thought they could just pick up where they left off.

The trust they once had was shattered, and she wasn't sure if it could ever be rebuilt. She needed space and time to heal, but Alex's sudden appearance had ripped open her wounds anew.

As Kate continued to run, the rush of emotions clouded her judgment, and she didn't notice the uneven ground beneath her.

Suddenly, her foot caught on a hidden root, and she stumbled, her ankle twisting at an awkward angle. "Ahh!" she shouted in pain, collapsing to the ground, tears streaming down her face.

As the throbbing pain intensified, she felt helpless and overwhelmed. She clutched her injured ankle, trying to soothe the pain, but it felt unbearable.

The weight of her emotions seemed to manifest in the physical pain she was experiencing.

In that moment of agony, Alex appeared, drawn by her cries of pain.

He rushed to her side, concern etched on his face. "My love, oh my god, you're hurt. Let me help you," he said, reaching out to offer assistance.

Kate's pain was twofold now - the physical pain in her twisted ankle and the emotional pain of seeing Alex, the source of her heartache, standing before her. "I don't want help from a betrayer like you!" she screamed, her voice laced with anguish and anger.

I know I betrayed you, and I can never change that," Alex said, his voice filled with regret. "But please, let me help you with your injury."

"I don't need your help!" Kate replied, gritting her teeth against the pain. "You've caused me enough pain already. Just go away!"

Alex hesitated for a moment, torn between wanting to respect her wishes and his instinct to care for her.

But seeing her in such pain broke his heart, and he couldn't stand by and do nothing.

Ignoring Kate's protests, Alex gently lifted her up in a bridal style, carefully cradling her in his arms.

"I'm not going to leave you like this," he said firmly. "I'll take you to get some help, and then I'll leave if that's what you want."

As he carried her, Kate's initial anger began to soften as she felt a sense of comfort and safety in his arms. Despite everything, there was still a part of her that yearned for his care and affection.

As they made their way to a nearby bench, Alex gently set her down and began to assess her injury. "It looks like a sprain," he said softly. "I'll go get some ice and help you elevate it to reduce the swelling."

Kate couldn't help but watch him as he hurried off to find some ice.

Her heart was conflicted torn between the pain he had caused her and the memories of the love they once shared. She felt vulnerable and exposed, emotions swirling inside her like a storm.

When Alex returned with the ice, he carefully applied it to her injured ankle, all the while making sure not to cause her any more pain. "I'm so sorry for everything," he said sincerely, his eyes filled with remorse. "I never wanted to hurt you, but I couldn't bear to lose you either."

Kate felt torn. Part of her wanted to push him away, to shield herself from any more pain. But another part of her remembered the love they once had and longed for the comfort and connection they shared.

"It's not that simple, Alex," she said, her voice wavering. "You betrayed my trust, and it's going to take time to heal."

I understand my love, I want to tell you that ,my love was never fake and you were never a dare to me, I love you for real. I will protect you with my life.
